canadagoose1
Hi Burkhard or whomever, I am a bit confused here. Sorry if I may sound a bit naive. I am looking through the forum and have yet to find a clear definitive answer for my question. I know it is a stand alone product and some people have said it overwrites MT2004 files, other posts contradict. My preference would be to eliminate MT2004 from my HD all together. Can I do this after MT2006 is installed? What effect if any will this installation have on my Scenery Library? I have MYWORLDAIRPORTS below ADDON SCENERY right now. Are all the my_aircraft folders/files overwritten in the AFS9 Aircraft folder? Also, If MT2004 has to remain that does not seem to be a very clean seamless MT2006 installation. That does not imply that MT2006 is a stand alone product if it is dependant on MT2004 remaining. In addition after installation what steps, if any would I have to take to get MyTraffic up to snuff? Or will the MT2006 installation painlessly do everything for me and is ready to go? Best Regards, Tom
canadagoose1
As is usually the case I think I have answered my own questions. I downloaded the update and ran the installation. But before that I removed (deleted) the MY_Planes from the FS9 Aircraft folder. I restarted FS9 and noted there were 2 MYWORLDAIRPORTS entries in the Scenery Library. So I deleted the original entry (Myworldairports) and moved the "NEW" Myworldairports down below Scenery Addons. I have also removed the MyCargoRoutes.dat, Myglobal routes.dat... etc, MT2004V21.MYT, MT2004V20.MYT etc... files located in the MyTraffic and FS9 folders with the entent to delete them later. Is this feasible? I have gone into FS9 and the new paints look great from what I've seen so far. I think it was a successfull install. Thanks for the hard work on this project. Burkhard
MT2006 is a complete install, replacing MT2004. It keeps the older MyTraffic executable and the database to allows users of the MyTRaffic2004 editor to carefully move their projects to the new data base format. The two MyWorldAirports must come from a longer history, they were spelled differtly in Version2.0 ( a blank missing), therefore this happend, but was not fatal since they were different in name. canadagoose1
Thanks Burkhard, so I guess I'm good to delete these MT2004 files since I have no desire to use Mt2004 and will not be transferring any old projects to MT2006? Have a Safe & Happy Holiday Season, Best Regards, Tom
Burkhard
Yes, you may delete the files, but NOT any scenery directory - FS9 is extremely sensible to deletion of scenery directories.
