Burkhard
Hi, I made a small visit to Mojave to look what to find for you, on the way to there I met this bird. I know you, you will complain that the AI sounds are unrealistic
Husain
Careful Burkhard...we need to leave some space for the user to fly!

The B52 is one of the few (the only?) aircraft that can "crab land" to compensate for crosswind by aligning the gear parallel to the runway while flying in crabbed position. See section "Trivia" in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B-52_Stratofortress Or will that be another task for the FSX or FS11 wishlist? Thomas. Burkhard
OK, only KBAD, KEWR and KMIB will be seriously affected. Given its size, it will need 27m Mil_Combat parkings, so it is easy to stear where to go.
Burkhard
Anybody here who has sources and fun to make research when in history which units were equipped with B-52s, and were these were home? Something easy to implement in MyTraffic2006. Airliners.net provides some photograph from Moscow - Zhukovsky (Ramenskoye) (UUBW), I do not assume this to be the most likely place though.

They have different engine nacelles (B-52H) and different Tail Fins (B-52G and H)

Something easy to implement in MyTraffic2006. Ok, here we go: Some history http://www.vectorsite.net/avb52.html B-52 at Anderson AFB, Guam. 43th Strategic Wing, and mor history http://www.vectorsite.net/avb52_2.html Links to past and present B-52 Bases http://www.stratofortress.org/baselink.htm B-52 service and squadron assignments http://www.csd.uwo.ca/~pettypi/elevon/baugher_us/b052i.html
Burkhard
Thanks :) I'm so happy I found enough material on the B52 to get one model done. Which of the models could you differentiate when they fill the screen half? Any more info is so welcome. Guam for sure is a good candidate for 30m Mil_COMBAT... Which of the models could you differentiate when they fill the screen half? Just see Wikipedia for B-52, they have sideviews from the tail fin and tail section which differs in the variants B-52G, B-52H and the other B-52s (A to F). http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/B-52 look in the section "Versionen". I think that (tail) size does matter  Edit: From the images in the Internet I see differences in the nose section too, and the later variants (only H?) seem to have external fuel tanks under the outer parts of the wings
Burkhard
That's a lot of info, but I asked for it  OK, my model is a H-one as I read on the schematics and see on the fan inlets that are unsymmetrical. Making a G-Variant looks not too complicated, since that engines are simpler to make. The different size of the tail I have to check on how much it is. Looks like the outside differences between B-F are rather small. No idea about central wheel steering with crosswind - the main gears are treted as central and only the small ones at the wing tips as outer, other than naming them c_gear GAMY and Makemdl offer no other handle to them. Burkhard
So, from what I learned now in a bit of simplification: A Never in service, forget it B No wing tanks, large fin C-F wing tanks, large fin G wing tanks small fin H wing tanks small fin Engine pods more or less the same between B-G, H a T33 fan. C-H were seen with wing tanks removed sometimes. Noses change depending on radar system, so underwent changes during life. The fin difference is more than a mansize. So, a simplification suitable for AI traffic needs comes out with 4 models: B, C-F,G,H
Burkhard
Another difference for the high res models: B-F had 6 spoilers per wing, and ailerons. H has 7 spoilers and no ailerons.
