M4000 Gauge

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have a registered version(latest 3.6) and for some reason Eric's M4000

Gauge wont display target information, yet I am sure It is a recognized gauge by fspuic!

I have 3 other gauges by Eric and they all work fine but this one wont play ball!

Any help would be great as I have spent over an hour trawling through the search facility and no joy!

Regards

Neil

Well a key has been issued for an "M4000", but I don't know what it does. By "targets" what do you mean? Is this a combat HUD or something? Or another TCAS gauge? If you are properly registered it wouldn't need a key in any case -- where did you get the registration key?

Do they use FSUIPC? What do they display?

Evidently then no one else has a problem with the M4000? Please do a short session, getting the problem, close FS down then show me the FSUIPC.LOG file you will find in the FS Modules folder.

Regards,

Pete

Hi Pete

Yes it is a tcas gauge, very like the F16 gauge that some people seem to have problems with ,although actually I'm not one of them, as all the other gauges from Eric (including f16.gau and f16or.gau) are shown as recognized in the fspuic log! The M4000 isnt!

I'm just going to run a session now !

Ps I cant remeber offhand where I purchased the reg key, no doubt I can find out with some research, It was through a genuine link from your site or readme.Perhaps I could send It to you to look at?

Many thanks

Neil

If it isn't even mentioned in the Log, then there's only two possibilities -- either it isn't even trying to connect to FSUIPC (in which case you'd need to look elsewhere for a reason), or it is wrongly trying to connect as if it were an external program.

In the latter case you may see it in the log identified incorrectly of course as FS itself! However, in the latter case, provided your FSUIPC is registered, it should still work -- UNLESS you have more than one Gauge or DLL trying to do it the same way. In the latter case they'd clash badly and neither work correctly as they'd be using the same data exchange memory.

SimMarket then.

No, it must be okay if the Log says you are registered AND the other TCAS gauges are working.

Pete

Hi Pete

Iv'e run 2 sessions one with the M4000 gauge and one with the F16or gauge, the f16or gauge is recognized, the M4000 isn't ! I havn't tried to input any reg keys apart from a registration key which shows me as a fully registered on the fspuic tab in game. Eric has made available keys for this M4000 gauge on his website for those who havn't a fully registered version of fspuic.( also on the forum too I believe)

Thank you Pete for all your help, i have solved the problem, as you guessed it was another issue with this particular gauge and modified panel cfg.

Not a fspuic problem, but at least it stopped me looking for an issue in the wrong place!

many thanks again

Neil :D
