polmer
Hello, I am new to sim building and have a basic question; I will be running 1 server (fs2004) along with severall client pc(s). Is it possible to plug in a keyboard emulator just into my server system and send comands to my various clients for software such as FreeFD? Otherwise I would have to purchase a card for each PC as well as create a wiring nightmare. Is this something that FSUIPC can do? Thanks, Polmer
Pete Dowson
Is it possible to plug in a keyboard emulator just into my server system and send comands to my various clients for software such as FreeFD? If they take keyboard commands, yes, via the KEYSEND facilities in FSUIPC and WideFS. They may need to have keyboard focus though, depending how they get the keypresses, which could be a problem if there are more than one. Is this something that FSUIPC can do? Not without WideFS, as there are no network features at all in FSUIPC. Regards, Pete
polmer
I will be trying to use "X-Keys", a programmable USB device card. This card has flash memory that can be programed and can plugged into any system afterward without the software and will behave just like a keyboard. I have both Widefs and FSUIPC ( registered version), so it looks like I may have a shot at pulling this off. Polmer
