Recommended Posts

I have Vista, and FSX Deluxe sp1, I have my dll in User/ AppData/ Roaming/ Microsoft/ FSX. My traffictoolbox isn't working but FSUIPC does. Any clues?

I bet there is a section

Traffic Toolbox

True

that needs to be changed to

Traffic Toolbox

False

in that file.

I have just installed SP1 after deleting and re-installing FSX. I then installed MyTraffic, but could not get the Traffic Toolbox to show. I then compared my new dll.xml with the one I had before installing SP1, but they look identical:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>

Launch

dll.xml

False

False

Object Placement Tool

True

False

..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Mission Creation Kit\object_placement.dll

Traffic Toolbox

True

False

..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Traffic Toolbox SDK\traffictoolbox.dll

Visual Effects Tool

True

False

..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Special Effects SDK\visualfxtool.dll

Traffic Toolbox

False

False

MyTraffic\traffictoolbox.dll

I'm running Vista Ultimate. I wish to point out that everything was fine before installing SP1.

Can anybody help?

Hi Yossi, which MyTraffic X version are you using, v.5.1?

Also, are the SDKs the latest version?

Please tell us more about your paths to FSX and the SDKs?

You might be able to activate the tools by simply changing this:

Traffic Toolbox

True

False

..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Traffic Toolbox SDK\traffictoolbox.dll

to

Traffic Toolbox

False

False

..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Traffic Toolbox SDK\traffictoolbox.dll

It will only work if you have the latest SDKs and FSX SP1.

Hope this helps, kind regards

Jaap

I think in addition the section

Traffic Toolbox

False

False

MyTraffic\traffictoolbox.dll

has to be removed than - no Object oriented language allows the same object to be defined twice.

1. Installed MyTraffic 5.1

2. Installed SDK SP1a (After having to install the SDK from FSX Deluxe edition)

3. Deleted the section that Burkhard suggested

4. It Works!! Toolbox finally shows up!

What I'd like to know is how come it showed up before installing SP1 and the first SDK.

SDK setup fiddles around in these filesand any automatic manipulation of config files fails in far too many cases.
