Non responding means the computer is working, so in 99% of all cases everything is OK and you just should wait.

Depending on the zip archiver you use, this may take some minutes to open the archive, as example using 7 zip on a PIV 3 GHz system I need about 9 minutes until it opens, where my AMD 6000+ does it in less than 3.

If there is an error in the archive, your unzipper will tell you.

Hi Boing, didn't your burner/computer come with a burning software like Nero?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nero_%28cooftware%29

I'll include a couple of further links.

My only recommendation is, please avoid cheap discs. :!: Make sure you use quality mediums like TDK, Verbatim, etc. You won't be able to read 'el cheapos' any more in 2-3 years time.

Hope this helps, kind regards

Jaap

Iomega is a brand, they produce several differnt disk products of mixed quality. If it is a CD burner, some software should have come with it.

My experience is that CD-RW media are better for storage than CD-R, because the reflecting layer is protected by a thin plastic on them. And better make two backups than one.
