pipeman Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 I am having problems registering my copy of FSCUIP4 on FSX running on Vista Ultimate. After installation if I run FSX under add ons I have FSUIPC4.2 a message says that in order to register the program I need to run FSX as an administrator. The problem is I cant see how I can do this, being a silver surfer and a complete newbie can someone give me a step by step guide how I can acomplish this. Any help will be much appreciated. Pipeman
Thomas Richter Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 It is clearly described in its documentation, step by step! Did you read it ?
pipeman Posted November 29, 2007 Author Report Posted November 29, 2007 Thanks for your fast response Thomas I have read the documents in the module folder. What they say is that in order to register I need to right click and select run as administrator. The problem I have is if I right click on the desktop symbol for FSX there is no option to run as administrator listed. I feel that when the computer was set up I was listed as the administrator. Like I said Im not the sharpest knife in the box when it comes to computers. The install log says that "All installer tasks completed okay" so I think its just the problem of the administrator function. Thanks for your interest Fred Ost
Thomas Richter Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 That is not the same ! I also have only one account and that is of course a Administrator one. But 1. You need to install it with this rightclick as Administrator 2. After that is done you need to start FSX withrightclick as Administrator If there is no way by using the desktop symbol then go direct to FSX main folder and start there FSX with rightclick as Administrator. ... \Microsoft Flight Simulator X and then start FSX.exe (Application) with rightclick as Administrator. Then you need to register FSUIPC/WideFS and restart FSX NORMAL.
