CAN'T GET AI TRAFFIC AT 9 DRAGONS KAI TAK????

Recommended Posts

Boing: Do you see the problem? Your trafficdatabasebuilderX.exe is different than the trafficdatabasebuilder that is being called in the traffic.bat file. I think the solution is simple. In your MyTraffic folder, rename trafficdatabasebuilderX.exe to trafficdatabasebuilder.exe (just remove the "X").

Copy, not move, the trafficdatabasebuilder of the SDK you have installed, \environment kit\traffictoolbox\Trafficdatabasebuilder.exe, over to the MyTraffic folder.

I recently upgraded my PC and reinstalled XP, FS9, etc. in the process. Prior to do this I had traffic working in and out of Kai Tak using the 9 Dragons add-on. Since reinstalling though it has been no go. I have the airport added and it is creating schedules but they look not be reoccurring schedules, not sure how to fix it.

I am sure it is just something I am hitting wrong someplace but can't figure out where and it is making me crazy. I added VHHX as a hub for a couple of carriers, set a couple parking spots on the AFCAD for those carriers only, etc. All my other airports seem to be working fine.

Appreciate whatever help somebody can offer.

Concerning the database, it should be a busy place.

Since speaking about FS9, the files that have to be replaced by the batch process after schedule creation, or when you make a "create all files and traffic", are scenery\world\scenery\MyTrafficcargo.bgl MyTrafficline.bgl etc. So to ensure they get replaced, just delete those files and run a create "all files and traffic" and check they are there and the new ones.

If still no joy, ( and the editor shows the flights ), please check the file MyTrafficlineroutes.dat, you can open it using Notepad. Is VHHX used in this file frequently?

If yes, check MyTrafficlineroutes.log, maybe it indicates a severe problem with VHHX?

I deleted those files and ran through the entire build process again but with no luck.

I checked Trafficlogline.log and it shows

"F:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\MyTraffic\MyAirports.dat : Reading airport data...

F:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\MyTraffic\MyAirports.dat(178174) : error: Missing airport latitude"

When I look up VHHX in the airport.dat it shows

VHHX,22.316959351,114.202618450,0.0,D,7

I don't have that airport, but an altitude of 0.0m is not really flood safe  If that is the altitude of the AFCAD file, and the actual ground is above, your aircraft will be parked below ground. Anybody who has this can comment on the altitude?

I have the same altitude for the fsx version of VHHX by Jim Vile. The airport works fine. Maybe Bankheadd can help since he has the exact same version of 9 Dragons from VOZ installed on his F: Drive. Somehow he was able to get traffic there.

Guessing something someplace got corrupted.

That is what I call a precise error analysis  Maybe one of the 25000 files MyTraffic has?

Alright new update. I've verified the path to FS9 in the run menu. It didn't locate the path with the airports.txt in the string, so I deleted the airports.txt and both files that I created in the MYTRAFFIC folder and ran it again "F:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\MyTraffic" it went to the FS9 TRAFFIC folder. My operating sys is WIN XP PRO SP2.

So my question is, whats creating the two files when you run the "DUMP AIRPORT list?" Is this program thats doing it? Well I just ran DUMP AIRPORT list agian and I get the FILE OPEN ERROR. SEE attachments

I have to step out for a few hrs so I''l get back to you later. Thanks

I have got the EXACT same problem, but only now, previously I have managed to decompile my FS2004 DEFAULT traffic to go to Kai Tak, but I am not able to get My Traffic to go there. When I open MYTRAFFICBUILDER, ithe numbers all read 0! It is so confusing. Is there anyone there who can help/advice me what I can do to acheive this, please.

Why don't you read the enclosed manual? Programming traffic is assembler programming - which requires precision work and reading all the doucumentation.

If all counters are 0 in the Editor ( something called MYTRAFFICBUILDER doesn't exist at all ), why don't you open the actual database to start with?
