Weather programs can't connect with FS9

Recommended Posts

I have installed FS9 on a new PC and FS Meteo could not connect with FS9(with SP1) after downloading metar files (FS Meteo displays "waiting for FSUIPC" indefinitely). So thinking it was an FSMeteo incompatibility I bought Active Sky too and it cannot connect either ("ASv65 disconnected" message in the Active Sky programme). This makes me think that FSUIPC maybe my problem. I am running a registered version of 3.75 under windows Vista. I took out my FSUIPC key file in case that was corrupt but made no difference. Also tried turning off antivirus software without any difference being made. I've searched the forum here and also over at Active Sky and there does not seem to be a solution.

Any help more than welcome!

Sounds like it isn't installed! There's no anti-virus or firewall problems with FSUIPC3. Is there a Modules menu entry with FSUIPC listed? Does it open?

Run FS9, run something to show the problem. Close FS9 down. Find the FSUIPC.LOG file in the FS Modules folder. Paste it into a reply here.

Hi Pete,

That's all okay. I can see absolutely no reason why your programs won't connect.

The only thing I can think of to get more information is to enable IPC read and write logging in the FSUIPC Logging options page, left hand side. Let's see if the log shows any attempt by any programs to talk to FSUIPC.

Regards

Pete

Pete/Jim,

I performed an uninstall and reinstall of Active Sky and it works this time! Followed same install procedure for the reinstall.

Anyway thanks to you guys for your help and patience and for building such brilliant programs for the flightsim community.
