adding aircraft

Recommended Posts

hey,

i wanted to motify EGLC. so i made schedules and ill post the picture here. i deleted the vhhx-eglc file and i made the schedules and the planes i made are not there. i checked the schedule in the my traffic editor and there should be plenty of traffic. is there a problem or something i have to hit to get it going? the picture you see is a big chunk of what i added. there is some more like euromanx etc thats not in that picture.

thank you

Hi Boing,

First off, there are likely far too many departures around 00.15h

Another common reason for no shows, is, that a minimum turn-around (ground) time of 45 minutes is needed for the flightplans to compile.

Kind regards

Jaap

If you use the Schedule button from the manage airlines dialog and keep the times as proposed, they will be well distributed in time. Indeed on an airport with one runway only, FSX will not display multiple departures using the same departure time.

After you made the changes to the database and saved the database, you run a create "all files and traffic" to export it to FSX.

The schedule-myschedule method has proven to be too complex - you really have to make a lot of careful paperwork and planning before you can expect a flight you schedule to really show up - that method is real hard core assembler programming.

In the airline - manage airline dialog, select a type and press schedule, this will open a new dialog with departure, destination, just select these two and a lot of code behinf the scenes will make this come to life as likely as possible.

is there a way i can delete those and start out new? it looks like the picture at my first post. how can i delete those and start out new? i just finished putting the aircraft in (the manage aircraft thingy) and its not all stacked up like that. its scattered. so two questions.

1. why couldnt i put vlm and this other aircraft? i got this warning saying that there was no aircraft regestration for this type when there was?

2. how do i delete those planes?the planes stacked up on the top of my schedule

thank you

The message "No aircraft registered" means that either the "use in MyTraffic" button is not set, or there is no aircraft for the simulated year, so just check the years.

In your case, the most simple way to get rid of the "Myschedules" is to Press the little My Icon, than select the flight and delete it. But if the "use " is unchecked, this might already be enough of a reason of the flight not to show up as example. You are programming in machine language now, nothing anybody can help you...

You have to restart FSX, than you should see the parked aircraft immediately. If you dont, check that the new traffic bgls have been created and copied to MyTraffic\scenery .

Which just means that the stock airport is used. Indeed the airportin MyTraffic get done mostly by size, and EGLC is somewhere on position 4000.

But there is a MyTraffic version with slight modifications in the 5.1b patch, but this will not make any serious difference.

Yes, please check first that the files really get updated.

But making a flight requires a lot of planning and verification, and is almost impossible in the context of 600000 flights around you. In real life, planning a flight takes 9 months 100 specialists, in FSX I calculate nine hours of somebody who has understood the SDK.

I therefore recommend to nake a copy of the database, in this delete all existing flights, and then create one flight only and verify it to show up. If it doesn't, check the log files for a hint. If they do not give a hint, searching for the reason may become more more time consuming.

From this listing, we cannot see if the files are the new ones.

So here is the step by step:

1. From MyTraffic Communicator, start the MyTraffic editor manual.

2. Read this manual and follow the instructions in there.

Writing this manual was many months of work, and I cannot spend the next months to just rewrite it for you.

You want to make programming work, so you have to bite yourself through it - nobody can help you unless you have really clear defined questions.

And please read whatever you read carefully. When you translate "therefore recommend to make a copy of the database, in this delete all existing flights" to "what database do i delete" i strongly doubt you should try to program yourself.

oh i see. just so i get this right, i make a copy of the database im using right now and make a new one. ill put what i think the steps to make this new EGLC

1. go to fsx and proccess the dump airports.

2. go to my traffic editor

3.open the MTX_V51b.myt file.

4. click import airports txt

5. save the database and name it something like EGLC

6. Using the Airport pull down menu select edit

7. In the airport list on the left type in the ICAO code of EGLC

8. edit EGLC so it looks like the other one in the MTX_V51b file.

9. Using the create pull down menu, create "create all files and traffic" When it finishes save the newly named EGLC"......".myt database.

10. Using the create pull down menu, create "schedules, files and traffic". When it finishes, save the newly named EGLC".......".myt database. now i look and see if i see a lot of aircraft i wanted at EGLC

finally if all of that is right in were should i add the aircraft? i checked the communicater and i couldnt find it.

thank you

This is fine until step 8.

Next, use the dialog Maintenence to delte all automatic and preferred and random flights.

Now it is time to use the dialog airlines, edit airlines.

Select as example SN Brussels, than select the BAe146, press schedule. Next select EBBR and EGLC as airports, press OK, and a SN BAe will fly between Brussels and London City.

Once you have created all the flights you want to create this way, save the database. Now make the fast "Create all files and traffic" to verify you see the flights you want. As very last step, run the "Create schedules, files and traffic" to fill the remaining slots worldwide.

ok. i got the dump airports. open the MTX_V51b file. clicked import airports txt. and finally i tried to save it under EGLC and it doesnt save. i clicked save as and typed in EGLC but when i went to open it there was no EGLC file? so i went to the my traffic folder and i found the files but there not the regular my traffic files. there not saved under myt file. the just saved under a regular file. its weired cause i saved it under a myt file and i comes up under that. i posted a picture to show you the regular MTX_V51b file. and then the 2 others i made.

thank you
