Flaps mapping + PMDG 744

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am new to this forum.

Fsuipc is a great product. I've been through the whole manuals.

I've got one problem: I ahve followed the tuto for mapping the flaps on an axis, and it doesn't work with PMDG 744.

I tried my axis calibration with default 747 and it works great, but no way with PMDG.

HAs someone any idea?

Yes, mapping flaps to all PMDG aircraft using FSUIPC axis assingments and calibrations work fine as I have been using it this way for several years. From your settings that you list above, several items come to mind. 1) Uncheck "use detents" and don't set specific ranges unless your axis has physical detents for each flap position, which is rare. 2) Make sure you check the "Rev." (reverse) checkbox to reverse the axis input (axis up/away = flaps up / axis down/close = flaps down). Also, make sure FS isn't assigning the same axis to any item in the FS assignments and calibration menu, built-in to FS and therby causing some kind of input-clashing. If you still having trouble, I can post my .ini file sometime later today.

Good luck...

  • 3 weeks later...

your [Axes.PMDG - 747-400 GE CF6 Engines Air Atlanta Icelandic]

should be filled like your [Axes]

appearantly you did not confirm the popup with 'specific aircraft' 'do you want default values assigned to new aircraft' something like that

you can use an editor like notepad

copy

0=0X,256,D,22,0,0,0

..

6=1R,128,D,23,0,0,0 ;this is your flaps bytheway (23)

..

10=2R,256,D,3,36,0,0

to underneath

[Axes.PMDG - 747-400 GE CF6 Engines Air Atlanta Icelandic]

then you should still calibrate all axis (must be a [JoystickCalibration.xxx] in your fsuipc.ini )

OR

delete the [Axes.PMDG - 747-400 GE CF6 Engines Air Atlanta Icelandic]

entry

reload

and now hit "aircraft specific" and DO hit 'want to assign default values .. "

fsuipc can be edited and reloaded while flying, so in windowed mode, with a file viewer, you can chk the status of the file

(I edit all the time while testing, and hit the 'reload' button, be aware FS will change the file also when flying)
