My Traffic Communicator Patches

Whenever I click on Downloads and patches to 5.1b, I receive files and see numbers advancing in bytes received. Afterwards, I get a DOS windows showing activity and eventually another Window's window that says someting (cant fully understand what is going on because it only appears for a very short time. After all is complete, what should I do to insure that any updates are applied? If I click on patches to 5.1b again, same thing happens. Do I have to run the traffic editor to compile again or what? Other than this, I have no problem with program.

Thanks,

wb2002

I am running vista 64 with all rights & privaliges. I have not problem seeing A/C. I just want to know if the update was changing anything. Here is what you ask for:

Volume in drive D is DRIVE_D

Volume Serial Number is 7C11-BA0C

Directory of D:\FSX\MyTraffic\aircraft

Running Vista with full rights and privileges isn't enough I'm afraid. Vista in its concept makes a difference between "Installers" and "Programs". While Installer may change a content, Programs may not. So please check again that for the MyTraffic folder every user has full control, or switch of the user access control.

Thanks. - UAC has been off since install of Vista. As far as I can determine everything (security wise for users & programs) is setup OK. Now before I get totally confused. back to my orig post. Is there a way I could verify I have the latest updates in place and working?

Thanks Burkhard. I realize that FSX is only an entertaiment thingy and most folks have much greater interests in life but, I must say that I really admire your dedication and interest in this area of enjoyment. You have responded to my inquireies with concern and interest and I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thanks to you and pray you enjoy each day of your life and family. There are too many vendors that are only interested in sales and so unfriendly when support is concerned.

BTW - I just recently reinstall Vista 64, FSX, MyTraffic, and the other environment software. I reinstall MyTraffic by first installing 5.1b and then 5.1ab and everything appears after adding MyTraffic folder to FSX's scenery config. Originally, I was interested in whether there was a way to know if the download of files from the Communicator, could be verified as being installed and available for FSX without having to do anything other than downloading. The process went by so fast and I had no way of knowing if it was successful or not. This was my original interest.

Thanks again for all your help and interst.

Wilbert
