Thud
I have recently bought a new computer running Vista 32-bit and am trying to install all my fs9 files. I have downloaded FSUIPC 3.85 and placed the dll. in the modules file of fs9. When I start fs9, load a flight and click on the modules box at the top of the display, it shows FSUIPC in the drop down. However, when I click on FSUIPC the registration box shows very briefly (less than a second) and then the whole screen goes completely black. If I hit escape I get the flight screen back so I haven't crashed the program, but I can't get the registration box to remain visible so I can fill it in. I bought a new large monitor at the same time I bought the computer and admit I certainly don't know all the ins and outs of Vista or the monitor. Can anyone help?? Thanks - Ron
Pete Dowson
when I click on FSUIPC the registration box shows very briefly (less than a second) and then the whole screen goes completely black. That's usually either a problem with video drivers, or possibly a conflict with another add-in module in your FS9 Modules folder -- possibly "actigate.dll". I've really no idea how the latter does this as it only happens on a few systems. Try putting FS into Windowed mode first -- ALT + ENTER. That should avoid the video driver problem. If it's another module, you may need to remove it temporarily, before loading FS. Regards Pete
Thud
Thanks Pete, Going to the windowed mode took care of the immediate problem - registered again. I'll have to research the video driver problem. Thanks again - Ron
