Crash on startup

Recommended Posts

I've just installed STB on my Vista x64 system, and it crashes on startup with a stack trace.

This occurs with the base v2 install, as well as the v2.1 patch. I've verified that the file in the inital part of the stack trace does exist, and I've tried running STB as Administrator, with the same results.

Stack trace is attached.

thanks

Brad.

Hi Brad,

Did you buy from Simmarket? There's a problem in their installer, and I'm afraid the patch cannot fix it because it is in the installer rather than the deployed program.

Anyway the solution is described here: viewtopic.php?f=268&t=72117

Launching from the desktop icon should be unaffected.

If this does not help, please call back.

Regards

Simon

Hi Simon,

Thanks for the quick reply. I always delete any icons that appear on my desktop, so I'll have to re-create one there and see if it has the effect as the one originally installed. Will let you know the results....

Hi Simon,

As you explained, once I created a shortcut on my desktop, STB started without any issues. Thanks much.

Hi Brad,

Thanks for the feedback. It is possible to correct the problem with the action in the start menu. See here: viewtopic.php?f=268&t=72117

Regards

Simon
