mart88
Hello All, I am having a problem with Autosave and FS9, At the moment it will not save any flights at all. It did work once upon a time but it appears to have gone on holiday!. I have tried to delete the module, and delete the CFG file and re place the module in the modules folder (No affect) I have an unregistered version (quite happy to register if needed) of FSUIPC (I have the latest one for FS9). I hope that someone can help, Thanks, Martin
Pete Dowson
At the moment it will not save any flights at all. It did work once upon a time but it appears to have gone on holiday!. The AutoSave DLL has not been changed for many years (since 2004 -- version 1.501), so what have you changed? I have an unregistered version (quite happy to register if needed) of FSUIPC (I have the latest one for FS9). What IS the "latest one"? "Latest" is meaningless to me really, it just means "the last one I've seen" -- folks have said "latest" when using a year-old version before now. All my software modules have version numbers, please always quote them. Load up FS9, run it till ready to fly, and then just close it. Show me the FSUIPC.LOG file from the modules folder -- paste it here in a message, it will be quite small. It might be useful to also show me the AutoSave.CFG file, from the main FS folder. mart88
Latest means I have checked the website and found that I have the latest one for FS9....i.e. version 3.90. Anyway, it would appear that Autosave is saving flights into the Flight Simulator File's folder. These flights do not appear through the "My Flights" Categorie through flight sim, however I imagine double clicking the flight through the folder will start flight sim and my saved flight. Thanks for posting anyway Pete.
Pete Dowson
it would appear that Autosave is saving flights into the Flight Simulator File's folder. AutoSave doesn't save flights at all. It simply calls the routine in FS which saves flights, and that saves them to the My Documents\Flight simulator Files folder -- which is where your flights are saved. These flights do not appear through the "My Flights" Categorie through flight sim There's something wrong with your FS installation then, as that means it won't show flights you save explicitly in FS either. AutoSave does not choose where to save flights -- it is not possible to do so. It is FS which decides where to save them. Regards Pete
mart88
Yeah sorry, I'll be more precise in future. I can save flights manually fine, they also show up fine. No worries there. Anyway, thanks.
Pete Dowson
I can save flights manually fine, they also show up fine. Then so must AutoSaved flights, because they are using the EXACT same facility as you! I repeat, AUTOSAVE does NOT save flights -- FS itself saves flights. All AutoSave does is call the same facility that you do, on a timed basis. Pete
mart88
Pete, I understood the first time you said it. I do not know why I can manually save flights and they appear but when Autosave does it they don't (In FS). Its a mystery, proboble time to reinstall FS. Anyway, its working well enough for me. Thanks.
