AI Views Greyed Out

When on the ground at an airport I can view AI at that airport and return to cockpit with no problem, but the chase AI is greyed out. When in the air the view AI tab, shadow AI tab, follow AI tab and the chase AI tab are greyed out. According to the camera advisor button my camera is set up fine.

Actually when I am in the air for flights already departed everything is greyed out except the configure flight, return to cockpit, view flight data, optimize AI, hide columns and reset columns tabs.

I also notice that for different AI's different tabs are greyed out or not greyed out (view AI tab, listen to AI ATC tab) and for one AI plane the tab says shadow AI and for another AI plane that same tab says view AI.

Please help, I would like to be able to chase AI.

Hi Rod,

Items on the context menu may be greyed out depending on the state of the AI aircraft selected, the state of the user aircraft, and the configuration of the board.

For Chase AI in particular, you need the board configured to "Pilot Mode". To do this, click "Settings", then "Data Intrepretation Tab", and select "Pilot Mode" in the "Operational" group. This is required to avoid flights showing up as "terminations" on the board when FSX deletes them as they fall outside of the reality bubble. Chasing AI moves your user aircraft, so a lot of flights can get deleted and others created. If you do it a lot, the board can get quite messy but using pilot mode keeps it clean and relevent to the AI under simulation by FSX.
