0Artur0
I quickly checked the forum and the manual but I can't find the info... what's the distance AI traffic appears in FSX?
Burkhard
There are two distances to be considered. a) the reality bubble. This is a circle around the actual position of the users aircraft ( not the active camera!) with a radius of approximately 80 km. AI aircraft are fine tracked at every frame inside this bubble, aircraft outside are only checked very coarse if the ever come into this, and then are placed to a grid point. This may be much nearer than 80 km. From this point on you see the aircraft listed in the traffic tool box, and ATC communicates with it. With version 5.3a, you will be able to select a strobe to display at the location of the aircraft even if it is still outside the optical bubble. B) the optical model. This is only displayed over a distance of about 9 miles from the active camera, then you see a point and can see the label if you switched that on.
