FSUIPC is not registered?!

Recommended Posts

Hey there,

I just bought FSUIPC 4.60, installed it and tried to config it but i noticed that FSUIPC says that it is not registered yet.

But I'm shure I did that after the installation ;)

I also tried to delete every single FSUIPC dll in the Modules folder and installed it again - but I had no success.

So what can I do now?

Thanks in advance!

Did the registration part, in the Installer, say it was okay?

There can only be one FSUIPC4.DLL in any one folder -- Windows does not allow more than one file with the same name in the same folder. And re-installing will replace the DLL. Deleting it makes no difference whatsoever if you then reinstall.

So what can I do now?

Please show me the Install log and the FSUIPC4 log. I expect you are simply not entering the registration details correctly.

Pete

Pete not everyones first language is English "Hey there" isn't an insult or shouting its also a way folk greet one another these days.

OP go to Windows "folder options" and remove the check mark from the box that says "hide extensions for known file types", you will now be able to see what the real file names were of all those FSUIPC files.

Yes, it said it was ok.

Yes, you're right - sorry. I meant I deleted all files of FSUIPC (dll, ini, key,...)

Installer for FSUIPC4.DLL version 4.60a

Okay, the Installer log looks fine: nothing wrong there. You forgot to paste the FSUIPC4.LOG, the one generated by FSUIPC4 when you actually run FSX.

Make sure you close FSX first, please.

Also it would help me check the Registration here if you told me your real name, please. There's no sign of a purchase by "Flusier" so I assume it's a fake name?

Hi!

What was the solution? I have a similar problem here with FS9 and FSUICP 3.99. I had to install my FS9 on a new computer (Windows 7 64-bit) after a complete hardware crash on my old Flightsim computer. First I copied the modules folder from a backup to the new installation and installed over it (the registration keys should be retrieved from the old installation), that didn't work: same problem like the above mentioned: Installation process said it was okay, Log file says installation and registration ok, but when starting flightsim it says widefs is unable to connect because it is not registered and in the modules tab FSUICP says it's the unregistered version. Log file says the same.

Then I made a completely new install, entered the registration keys with copy and paste, but same as above: registration and log file say registration ok, but it doesn't work.

Info and help would be much appreciated; as I'm working with opencockpit's SIOC, FSUICP is essential

That is because you need to re-register, via the Installer, when moving to a new PC, or reinstalling Windows. It does say this in the documentation.

Then I made a completely new install, entered the registration keys with copy and paste, but same as above: registration and log file say registration ok, but it doesn't work.

Show me the Log file please. Maybe the date on your new computer is incorrect?

Hello Pete,

i have the same Problem with my license.

When i reinstall FSUIPC with typing in my license, it works fine formally until i restart my computer. Thereafter FSUIPC will lose the key.

I had the problem also before v3.99. But before that, the license file contained my information....

Best Regards,

Mehmet

There's really no way anything stored and recognised on your hard disk will be lost on a re-boot unless you have a serious hardware problem.

I had the problem also before v3.99. But before that, the license file contained my information....

Sorry, what does this part mean?

You never need to re-enter any registration information unless you move to a new PC, or reinstall Windows, or roll back to a restore point before you registered. The data is stored in the FSUIPC.KEY file in your FS Modules folder and also encoded in a Registry entry. If it is getting lost in the Registry then your system is restoring the registry to an older copy -- such an action will affect almost everything you ever install.

Pete

yes, the FSUIPC.key file is still in the folder but it don´t get used by FSUIPC.

I also didn´t reinstall my system.

I didn't say you did. I said that there is no way possible for FSUIPC to lose your registration UNLESS you reinstall. Just turning off the system and turning it back on again cannot possibly cause the relevant information to change unless there's something seriously wrong with your hardware corrupting the Registry on the hard disk each time.

You still have not explained what you meant by

I had the problem also before v3.99. But before that, the license file contained my information.

Now you contradict yourself by saying the license file still contains your information????

I suspect you are misinterpreting something. How exactly are you determining that

Thereafter FSUIPC will lose the key.

What does "losing the key" look like? Because it is not possible and, as you just confirmed, it does not happen. How are you assuming this fact?

Why not paste in the FSUIPC log file for one of the occasions you ran FSUIPC and it supposedly "lost your key"?

Sorry for the missunterstanding...

With "losing the key" i mean that, when i start the flight simulator, FSUIPC is not registered anymore! But I checked it out through the days now...i saw...it "had lost the registration" after 2-3 days.

I hope you will unterstand it know ;-)

Yes, I understand that part, but in which way are you detecting or deciding it is "not registered anymore"? That's the question I need you to answer.

And I also need to see the FSUIPC log file for such an occasion.

But I checked it out through the days now...i saw...it "had lost the registration" after 2-3 days.

So it stays "registered" (by whatever method you determine this, as yet to be revealed) for 2-3 days? Then loses it, somehow, ... and gets it back ... how?

I need you to close FS and show me the whole log please. How it ends is as important as how it begins.

So far it looks like there's something happening during your system initialisation process which is reverting parts of the Registry to an older copy. This is a complete new occurrence -- I believe no one else has had such a problem in the 12 year history of FSUIPC!

[LATER]

Can you try 3.991, from the Download Links subforum, and see if the changes I've made to the registration checking help. Let me know, please.

Pete, I have exactly the same problem after upgrading to a 64 bit Windows 7, the difference in my case being that the registration "fails" immediately. The log is basically identical to the previous one. The other difference is that in my fs9 the FSUIPC screen doesn't appear in full screen mode and I have to go to a windowed mode to see the screen. I have noticed that, after closing FSUIPC and going back to full screen mode, pressing Alt-Tab shows momentarily the FSUIPC screen, indicating that this has maybe not saved and closed.

Looking forward to a resolution; FSUIPC has served me well fro many years and I can't wait to get it working again.
