Name different in registration replies

Recommended Posts

I have paid for and obtained registration keys for FSUIPC4 and WIDEFS7. FSUIPC4 was purchased last year and WIDEFS7 was purchased this year. For some reason, the registration names are different. The registration notes say that the names must be the same. I have been able to register one or the other, but not both at the same time. Can you help? My goal is to send FSX GPS data through a USB Bluetooth adapter to my PDA.

No, sorry. You can change the email address, but not the name. Something has to identify you. Using different names implies different users. Originally i had both name and email fixed, but folks change email addresses so that was relaxed. Changing names isn't good.

You could try raising a problem ticket at SimMarket, explain yourself and hope they'll sympathise. But they are pretty clear about these things.

Pete

I disagree, they were not clear at all.

Well, there are an infinitesimally small number of problems arising such as yours, so they must have something right. Anyway, use that in your argument for a revised registration. You still need to raise a problem ticket with SimMarket. I can't do anything for you. Sorry.

Peter, I copied the responses from my trouble ticket below:

When I purchased FSUIPC4 and WIDEFS7 the system registered me with different names. I do not know why it did this. Anyway, the software will not allow me to register both modules with different names. I can register one or the other but not both. I need both registered.

The FSUIPC4 key was sent with the name: ph barrett

The WIDEFS7 key was sent with the name: philip barrett

The email address is the same for both: flightguideone@sbcglobal.net

Please help me with this issue. I purchased both products in good faith.pixel_trans.gif

Marty - Support Date: 06/15/2011 Status: Closed Dear Customer,

please make sure you are installing the version of FSUIPC for which you purchased a key for so either Version 3 or 4.

Please also ensure you always install the LATEST version of the product available.

Note: in all 2010 and later versions of FSUIPC you can actually register WideFS with a different email or other address.

the FSUIPC key is composed of three elements:

your name

your Email

the 12 digit key

all three elements must be inserted exactly as issued, otherwise the key will not validate.

We suggest you copy & paste all three elements to avoid typing errors.

I did everything as you said, copied and pasted. I repeat, the software will not allow me to register both modules with different names. Did you not read my post?pixel_trans.gif

Marty - Support Date: 06/17/2011 Status: Closed

yes, of course, did you read ours, specially:

'Please also ensure you always install the LATEST version of the product available.'

it won't work with older versions, so please make sure you download and install the most current version.

I downloaded the latest version of FSUIPC4, (v4.70). It still does not work. The following statement is on URL

http://secure.simmar...n-fsuipc4.phtml

UPGRADE ENTITLEMENT: WHEN ANY PREVIOUS VERSION PURCHASED AFTER JULY 1st 2007

Can you please revise my registration so that the registered names are the same?pixel_trans.gif

hello,

i am sorry, we cannot issue a new key. new keys will have to be purchased.

nevertheless in your case there is no need for a new key as both well work, i suggest visiting the support forum for more help.

regards.

Someone is not getting it. I am willing to accept the blame, but I don't know who or what to believe, this is leaving a very bad taste in my mouth.

OK, you both clearly have me over a barrel. I am willing to purchase another key if you can give me some degree of confidance that the software will do what I want it to do. And that is: Allow me to use my AnywhereMaps GPS on a hp iPAQ PDA system with FSX and a bluetooth usb adapter.
