Airports and navaids

Recommended Posts

Some basic questions about FSC.

1. When I open FSC the first window is for selecting the airport. If I search by ICAO' let's say EGKK, the search list comes up with EGKK plus five nearby airports.

Isn't this redundant? An ICAO entry should yield one airport alone.

2. It seems that occasionally some major navaids are missing. For example, EGKK- Gatwick has no NDB's in FSC for runways 26L\8R.

The FS9\X map view has them.

Is it possible to manually enter navaids into FSC?

This is an extra feature for users who have typed rather than EGLC, EGLL.

As you know the AIRAC cycle is an addon, for its data, the FSC is not responsible.

Please contact the Navigraph support.

The answer is NO.

Volker

Not sure if this helps, but this site contains the latest cycle of navaid updates for all of Europe - not for FSCommander, but for FSX itself. You should find they update the ones you find as missing. It might be worth re-running FSC's database manager after updating - Volker, would this need to be done?

Let us know if it worked.

Hi to All,

the update does not help, because ... when you read the manual, you can find in Chapter 2, Database Manager, the following notice:

... Note that FlightSim Commander uses data extracted directly from Which are partly Flight Simulator Files ... and then

...All other data are provided by Navigraph (http://www2.navigraph.com/www/fmsdata.asp) and concern VOR, NDB, intersections, GPS fixes, airways, SIDs and STARs, transitions, and minimum safe altitudes airspaces ....

In other words, the database manager does not read NDB's, VOR, etc. of the flight simulator. This data is read from the FSCommander directly from the Airac Cycle.

Regards,

Volker
