FS9 pausing while using FSC 8.5

Recommended Posts

Hell;

Is it normal for FS9 to pause when ever you click one of the GPS buttons and when you go to look at the map in FSC. This is very anoying to say the least.

Bill

Your approach is very annoying:

1. FS9 outdated

2. FSC8.5 outdated (there was already 8.6 and now 9.0)

3. Did you read this? No.

4. But maybe there is help for you: at least in FSX there is an option to prevent FSX to pause when switching to another app. So maybe there's something similar in FS9

I guess I will just remove the program.

There is a way in FS9 to turn it off. But I got to say I dont like your attitude. All I did was ask for help and I found it at another forum where there are people ready to help you.

Right. My Forum Administrator hat has to go on at this point.

English is not Otto's first language and while he may have put what he wanted to say better, personal attacks are not acceptable on this forum, so please refrain from doing so, both of you.

Regarding your problem, Bill, I strongly suspect that the problem is, indeed, that the "pause sim on task switch" checkbox (I think it's in the general options tab?) is ticked. Have you checked that and, if so, has unticking it resolved the problem?

It is entirely your choice if you don't use FSX or FSC9, but yes, both are outdated and unsupported according to the developers. The announcements in this very forum state that FSC8.5 is no longer supported following the release of FSC9 (but see below) and Microsoft withdrew support for FS9 in late 2009 or early 2010, if I remember correctly. They certainly no longer provide support for it. Therefore the statements made, whether made well or not, were factually correct and accurate. Just as an aside, as it is actually completely irrelevant, but FS9 is no longer the primary sim of most people responding to surveys, FSX is, so your assertion is actually not true, but oddly more FS9 add-ons are still sold - probably because there are more of them and they're cheaper so people can buy more of them!

Anyway, back onto topic. Although there are no longer further updates for FSC8, the developers and users (I'm a user of FSC9, not a developer) can usually offer advice and support where no further changes to the software are necessary. I'm sorry that I missed this thread earlier, or I would have answered it myself.

Now please, let's bring this one back to the actual problem, get around language barriers and try to actually solve it!

Thank you.

Ian P.
