Issues connecting to data source

Dear all

I am a new user of STB 3 and have connection issue with running STB 3 from a remote client.

Have installed latest versions of everything (at least I think so). On the FSX computer everything is working perfect.

On the client computer, the connection to the Flight Simulator is ok, but the connection to the Remote STB/UT2 Data Source is failing with following error message:

Especially the ip-address at the top and the path at the bottom are surprising me.

Can anybody help please?

Many thanks

Gregor Meyer

Hi Gregor,

You are right, the "null" does not look correct. Can you describe the configuration steps you have taken on the client please?

Do not worry about the path. I am asked this many times, it is simply a message for me telling me where to find the source code when things go wrong.

Hi Simon

First I have installed the different SDKs (native, SP1a, Acceleration Pack).

Second I have created and adapted the simconnect.cfg file and installed the simconnect.msi.

Third I have installed STB and the patch-file.

Did I miss something?

Regards,

Greg

What should happen is STB recognises your simconnect.cfg file and knows what to do. In what location do you have the file?

Instead you can do the configuration manually. In the settings notebook, click the deployment tab. On the right hand side, fill in the "STB Data Server" section. Save your settings and restart STB.

Hi Simon

The "STB Data Server" section is filled correct, no need to change.

So it looks like as STB can "see" the simconnect.cfg file.

I have done the full installation again from scratch, both computers which just the same issue again, still not working.

Any more ideas?

Regards,

Greg
