FSUIPC 3 for FS9

Recommended Posts

Hi Pete,

I purchased FSUIPC 3 from Simmarket on Wednesday and although I have registered the programme in Windows 7 when I fly FS9 it tells me that it is unregistered but wont allow me to click the dialogue box within FS9.

Any idea's Pete?

Many thanks and Best Wishes,

Chris

As well as what Jim said, please tell me what you mean by " wont allow me to click the dialogue box within FS9". Do you mean there's no Modules - FSUIPC selection, or that the dialogue which appears then hangs, or what, exactly?

Thanks Jim, thanks Pete,

Yes it is version 3 for FS9, I already registered FSUIPC when I installed it.

Yes I copied and pasted everything including my name as per the order

When i go into FS9, the Modules tab is there, so is FSUIPC, but it tells me it is unregistered and only the basic functions are available. When i click on the register button nothing happens. I have deleted the file through control panel re-installed same problem exists

Any idea's as to what I am doing wrong.

Thank you again,

Chris

what "register" button? There hasn't been a facility to Register from inside FS for several releases.

It sounds like you are not using a currently supported release. You need at least version 3.99. That would probably be the reason. New registrations aren't valid for old versions.

Thanks Pete, thats what I thought it says version 3.99 April 11 2011.

Please try downloading and installing the current interim update, from the Download Links subforum. There have been some recent changes in Windows which seem to have changed security settings and prevented proper Registry updates. I programmed around those when I found out. It doesn't seem to affect everyone, though.

The other thing to try s to re-run the Installer, but do it "as administrator" (i.e. right-click on it and select "run as ...").

If it still doesn't work please show me the Log files -- there should be one for the Installer and one for FSUIPC itself. Paste them into a reply.

Pete

Which update? Please show the FSUIPC log file for when you ran "the update".

BTW, this is NOT good:

Why isn't your installation of FS9 identified correctly in the Registry? Have you moved FS9 from another PC rather than installed it on this one?

That could give problems in any case.

[LATER]

I've noticed that there are two registrations for a "chris j. hickman", but with different emails and different addresses. Did you buy it back in November 2004 too?

Here is my file:

The Install log you showed is incomplete. What exactly happened? Have you cut a bit off?

I need to see the FSUIPC log file.

Have you tried installing the latest FSUIPC3 update from the Download Links subforum? As it notes there in the list of changes:

1. Some of the user registration checks have been modified in order to get around some recent security changes in Windows.

Please please please DO read the other replies I've already made in this thread! You haven't shown me the FSUIPC log as I've mentioned in at least two replies here, and I assume you also haven't tried the latest interim update as I've also suggested in this thread twice already, the updated version which should fix this?

Sorry if I have to reply like this, but I really don't see the point of repeating myself all the time, especially not in the same thread which just needs reading before adding to. The idea of a Forum is that everyone can learn together, not get individual answers to exactly the same questions. I had all that work to do when I did email support. Forums should be better, don't you think?

If you do try the suggestions and they work, well and good, please do come back and say so (others don't seem to always bother). If it doesn't then please at least show the files I ask for, in this case specifically the FSUIPC log file, not the Installer's log.

Thank you!

Was the 1st time I posted something in this forum and looks like wasnt the best moment to do so; My apologize.

I didnt mean to create that kind of reaction from a person who sell a product to the public and get mad because the people who bought his product need help. I did download the latest update and follow step by step the instructions, my only "mistake" was to get confused and post the installer log instead of the other one; SORRY.

The last thing I expected when bought the product is to have problems with it, but unfortunately this happened and will not be the 1st and the last time.

Sorry once again and thank you for an "excellent" product.

PS

Still not working....

Not sure what you mean by that. Sorry.

I didnt mean to create that kind of reaction

What sort of reaction? One that merely asks you to read the thread which you knew was relevant and which had answers to your questions? I don't understand why this is a "sort of reaction" to object to? Can you explain what the problem with it is?

I did download the latest update and follow step by step the instructions

Okay, and what was the result? Please do tell me.

Still not working....

Ah. So, can you please show me the Log file from the attempt with the updated version? I.m very sorry, but you surely understand I cannot help without information.

Could you or your friend tell us what the problem was and how it was solved, please? I'm sure others would like to know, and I certainly would too so I can help more directly in future. You see there has been at least three such questions in this thread, but no real answers from anyone about what they did to proceed. Things improve for everyone with feedback.

Hi Pete

The only thing we did was to delete every single FSUIPC file inside my computer (not just in the modules) after find somebody else name in the registration (sorry to didnt add the information, but my friend delete it before I took a copy, but started with "archie...). looks like this information was inside of the downloaded file avoiding me to registering with my information. Was weird because I found something regarding to the FSUIPC spread everywhere inside my system (I thought was a virus or spyware, but not). After delete everything, I made a fresh install, register and works find.

Is not too much, but was the only thing I did. Hope give some light to you.

Ah, that sounds like a pirated key -- most of which are detected by FSUIPC automatically (but still they try!)

Where did you download from? There are most certainly no pirated key files in any of the places where I supply FSUIPC.

You wouldn't have had to delete all the files. The only one dealing with the registration is the KEY file.

Thanks for the feedback. I hope that this download you did is not used by many. The official site, as linked by the SimMarket purchase page, is the only official one for full installation FSUIPC packages.

Honestly I dont remember if I downloaded from another source the very 1st time, but the only thing I know is I deleted everything inside the module (including the key file) 2 or 3 times and didnt work prior to scan the whole computer and "really" delete any trace of the module inside my computer.

Anyhow the problem is solved, Im using the product and Im happy.

Thank you for your patience

There's never anything whatsoever of FSUIPC outside of the FS Modules folder -- certainly nothing that can be used by it or FS -- so you must have simply not actually deleted the right file the first two or three times!
