Looks like your FSX installation is screwed up. Error 0x80004005 denotes "Access is denied". It looks like your FSX main installation is up to date at SP2 level but your SimConnect installation is screwed up with only the SP1 version visible and FSX not allowing access to that.

The FSUIPC4 install log would show more information about what is going on. Try installing or reinstalling the SP2 or Acceleration update as Jim suggests. If that doesn't work I'm afraid it gets a whole lot more complicated and maybe a complete uninstall and reinstall job.

Pete

Hello! I don't use the SP2, I uninstalled it, so I don't know the problem.

The problem is that the FSX uninstaller does an absolutely awful job, and often wrecks the SimConnect side-by-side library linkages in Windows, which appears to be precisely what happened here.

Why did you uninstall SP2? That really is not a good idea. Apart from the damage it does trying to uninstall, you are removing a lot of efficiency improvements and bug fixes which SP2 included.

My installation log is:

...

INSTALLATION FOR FSX:

AppPath="C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\"

Checking version of FSX.EXE:

... Version 10.0.60905.0 (Need at least 10.0.60905.0)

Checking compatibility with installed SimConnect:

Found SimConnect build 60905 (Original)

Found SimConnect build 61242 (SP1 May07)

Ouch. That's another problem you have.

Your FSX installation is not even at SP1 level. Version 10.0.60905.0 of the FSX.EXE is the originally released version, with all its warts and bugs. Yet you have an SP1 version of SimConnect installed!

The installation is a mess. You could try installing SP1 only and see if that helps, but I would advise installing SP1, running FSX just once, then re-booting and installing SP2.

If neither of these fixes it I think you will have to start from scratch and reinstall it all, maybe even with a windows re-install first to clear the side-by-side library problems.

Oh, and I use FSX SDK just to remember!

That's not relevant to this, but after installing SP1 and SP2 properly remember to update the SDK too.

Pete

I already told you that the uninstall doesn't work properly and makes a mess of the SimConnect libraries. You still have a broken system. I advised you to install SP1, run FSX, reboot, and then install SP2.

Someone help me, please!!!

I'm helping but you are not listening!

If you don't want any of the improvements and fixes in SP1 and SP2 of FSX, if you want the original bug-ridden version of FSX, you will probably need to reformat your disk and reinstall Windows, then FSX.

I say to you that I can't use the SP1 and 2. In the SP1 the water reflexions disappear and in the SP2 my video driver don't support the vertex shaders!!!!! And I can't uninstall the whole disk!!! So don you know how remove the SimConnect files manually?

Please don't exist another way to help me??

Both sound like bad video drivers. Why not sort the video driver issues out instead of staying with a broken version of FSX?

And I can't uninstall the whole disk!!! So don you know how remove the SimConnect files manually?

No, not on Windows Vista or Windows 7. I also had to reformat my disk and reinstall windows when I deliberately made a similar mess of SimConnect in order to attempt find a way to solve these problems.

OK thanks! I'll buy a new video driver soon

Just try downloading the latest video driver from nVidia or AMD, depending on which card you have. Or simply go to www.guru3d.com and choose from those available there. You don't need to buy anything.

I use a Intel G31/33, so I can't use this drivers. I use the latest driver of the Intel, and this still don't support the Acceleration/SP2 shader. And the T&L is Hardware T&L, this can't be changed.

That sounds like a motherboard video chip, or a very basic business video card. You use that with FSX? That's amazing! In all cases I've seen like that the performance of FSX is simply unflyable!

Something strange happened last night! I could run the FSUIPC but I don't know why, and I could fly in the KaCars! But today, there's nothing there!! What happened? Why I could see the Addons menu last night but I can't see today? I'm so confused!!

Unless you have a hardware fault, perhaps memory chips or hard disk, there is nothing which will change whether Simconnect works and shows the menu except you installing or uninstalling things or changing files.

You really should update your FSX in any case. The original version had lots of bugs.

Your reply was so fast!!! And I don't downloaded nothing until today. I think was a mistake of the FSUIPC or of the SimConnect, my hard disk never was a problem!

Without some change in a file somewhere, or a hardware fault, things don't suddenly stop working on their own. Something has changed or got messed up.

It is usually the DLL.XML file which tells SimConnect what to load. See if FSUIPC4 is actually loading -- if it is there will be a new Log file created when you run FSX. If there isn't one then your DLL.XML file is corrupted. If FSUIPC4 is actually loading but the menu isn't created then you have a more serious problem, possibly a windows side-by-side error with SimConnect. In this case show me the FSUIPC4.LOG file.

********* FSUIPC4, Version 4.40 by Pete Dowson *********

I'm sorry but I cannot possibly support such an old version of FSUIPC. If you want support please update. The earliest supported FSUIPC4 is 4.70, and there's an interim update 4.722 available in the Download Links subforum.
