Upgrading to FSUIPC for FSX

I currently have installed the 3.98 version purchased in March 2011 for FS 2004.

Very soon I will be installing FSX and wondered if it is possible to download FSUIPC upgrade to FSX for 12 euros or will I have to purchase a complete version for FSX?

You can download and install FSUIPC without any payment. You only need to purchase it if you want to make use of the user facilities. For its main purpose, supporting applications, it is free.

I don't know whether the limited upgrade price is still offered by SimMarket. You'd have to check. Either way, I think it was only valid for the first six months after your FSUIPC3 purchase. Originally I think it was intended to be the first six months after FSX's release!

I was just looking into this also this morning and it looks like as of this writing it's still available via simmarket (the upgrade discount) although they will only honor it if they have record of you purchasing the previous version from them in their order history. Since I must have purchased my 3.4 key from someone else (as they have no record) I don't have record of it with simmarket so they won't give me the discount :( Still have the FSUIPC.key file on my old computer with info inside).

I see that it isn't just recent purchases, but any "after or on 2007-07-01", which is pretty generous really. If you purchased a Key at version 3.4 time that would date back to 2004, so it wouldn't apply in any case. It would have been 3.75 in July 2007.

I hope you are not still using 3.40! Your key covers ALL version 3.xx updates and older ones are not supported. The current main release is 3.99 and there is a later one in the Download Links subforum.
