Harpee
I'm a new user for the Registered version Of FSUIPC. I've always used the unregistered version. After the install screen it says that FSUIPC is registered and get a confirm button but when I open the FSUIPC within FSX it says its not registered and to re-run the installer which I did. I have FSX installed outside of the Microsoft Games Folder. It's installed in C;\FSX. I DL the registry Fix tool and when it prompts me for the location of my FSX.exe which is C:\Documents and Settings\Desktop\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX, when I get to the Microsoft folder nothing is there. I have the option unchecked for showing hidden files....Any Help Appreciated.....Thanks Eddie
Pete Dowson
I'm a new user for the Registered version Of FSUIPC. I've always used the unregistered version. You need to state the version number of FSUIPC., and I need to see the Install log and the FSUIPC log, both of which are found in the FS Modules folder. It sounds like you've not followed the instructions properly and run the Installer "as administrator. But paste those two files into a message here and I'll check. I have FSX installed outside of the Microsoft Games Folder. It's installed in C;\FSX. I DL the registry Fix tool and when it prompts me for the location of my FSX.exe which is C:\Documents and Settings\Desktop\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX You've seriously contradicted yourself there. The FSX.EXE must be in C:\FSX is that's where you installed it. The Application Data place is where FSX puts its CFG files and other stuff, data which can be changed -- it isn't allowed to change things in its own folders by strict Microsoft rules. ... when I get to the Microsoft folder nothing is there. I have the option unchecked for showing hidden files. If there's nothing in your C:\Documents and Settings\Desktop\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX folder you've got something serioisly wrong. If you've ever run FSX it would have generated several files there, including all of the FSX setting in FSX.CFG, and the DLL.XML file without which FSUIPC4 would never even get loaded. Why did you try running some registry fix program anyway? Regards Pete
Harpee
Hi Peter; Thanks for the Reply. I just assumed that Adm Priviledges was Ok as a lot of my scenery in FSX is required with Adm Priviledges. No where in my Post did I say I was a Computer Guru. All is Fine as it is now Registered. Thanks Eddie

You surely don't need to be a computer guru to follow instructions! Best to never simply assume. Pete
Harpee
For the installation, you need elevated administrator privileges. This didn't use to be the case—all installers got such privileges automatically—but Microsoft tightened up security significantly and now it seems only their own style of Installer (msi files) are automatically treated correctly.. Place the "Install FSUIPC4.exe" program onto your desktop, or into a temporary folder, and right click on it, selecting "run as ... Administrator". This method allows it to run with sufficient privilege Hi Peter, These are the instructions that I went by to try and install the Program. I eventually just double click the Installer and everything went fine from there. I certainly am no computer guru, but I did try to follow your directions!!!! Eddie So you DID right-click on the EXE and select "run as" then "administrator", as instructed? In your earlier message you seemed to be saying that since you were the administrator in administrator mode you assumed you could just execute it by just double-clicking. That was the assumption I was pointing out was not so good. Never mind, you got it working. Let's move on. Pete
