fsaviator
Peter, it has been a while since I sought out your wisdom... I have my main PC running FSUIPC4 w/ WideFS and FSX/Win7 I have two clients running WideFS 6.94 Using RunReady and CloseReady, I am successfully shutting down the clients via Keypress. No issues. I also have my server set up to shut down my FSX system, and using [Programs] in the FSUIPC4.ini, with Run1=READY, CLOSE,<App Path> it shuts down my apps on the server before shutting down the computer (those apps are SIOC, and various Prosim737 modules). The problem is that even using a keypress (CTRL+SHIFT+E), the AUTOSHUTDOWN=YES in the FSUIPC [Wideserver] is so fast that it doesn't allow the apps to shutdown completely (in particular, Prosim737 MCP doesn't shut down gracefully which results in my CPFight MCP lights remaining on). Is there a way to delay the AUTOSHUTDOWN of the server until AFTER the Apps running on the server machine have closed, or at least giving it a little more time? Hope you can make out what I'm saying. Thanks, Warren
Pete Dowson
The problem is that even using a keypress (CTRL+SHIFT+E), the AUTOSHUTDOWN=YES in the FSUIPC [Wideserver] is so fast that it doesn't allow the apps to shutdown completely (in particular, Prosim737 MCP doesn't shut down gracefully which results in my CPFight MCP lights remaining on). I only use auto-shutdown on Client PCs, -- mainly because they have no keyboards or mice. I do that with Ctrl+Shift+E, but close FS manually using the usual Att F X. Is there a way to delay the AUTOSHUTDOWN of the server until AFTER the Apps running on the server machine have closed, or at least giving it a little more time? Ctrl+Shift+E is a signal to the WideServer part of FSUIPC4 (build in from the original DLL for FSUIPC3). It isn't aware of the Programs run by the FSUIPC4 parameters. It was different with WideServer.DLL in FS9 and before, because that also had its own program loading and terminating facilities. However, I'll have a look to see if I can make the WideServer part send an appropriate signal back to the Programs part of FSUIPC. It shouldn't be a problem. Why aren't you switching the aircraft battery off before closing down, or don't you like starting up 'cold and dark'? Regards Pete

It shouldn't be a problem. Please try version 4.805, from the Download Links subforum. I've checked and double checked the code but it isn't tested as my cockpit network is down for some repairs at present. Please try it and let me know. fsaviator
OK, I gave it a try and it seems to work very well. It appears that everything is shutting down just fine. is there something else I should see happen? I really appreciate you making this happen so quick. Thanks. I tested it here too the other day. ;-) Regards Pete
