Cannot import FSC flight plans into FSC

Recommended Posts

1. FSX

2. FSUIPC (free version)

3. FS Commander V9.2, Build 02-May-2012

4. DL version from website

5. Operating System (Windows XP Home)

I create all my flight plans with this version of FSC.

They save perfectly.

They import into FSX and Squawk Box perfectly.

However, if I want to load (open) a flight plan into FSC that I previously created, then I always get an error: "Sorry! This is not a valid FSC flight plan!"

When I save my flight plans, the "FS Commander" box is checked.

The path is valid as it is saved in the same location I save the flight plans for FSX and SBox.

When I clock "Open" I see all the flight plans I've created.

Any thoughts?

Hi ???,

As I expected:

compare your screenshot with the screenshot in the current manual on page 64

Line 1: Wrong! Path for the FSCommander flight plan - standard = FSC\Flightplan\FSC

Line 2: Wrong! Path where FSX is installed

Line 3: O.K.

Line 4: Wrong ... and so on...

Volker, got the same problem, have checked the paths and seem OK. I am using FS Build to create the FPs and exporting to FSC. I had no problem when I used Windows 7, but I am now on W8. FSC works fine and if FPs are created in FSC that is not a problem, they work fine as well. FS Build also works fine on exporting to other formats. Is it possible there is a incompatibility between FS Build and FSC within W8 system?

Hi ???,

It would be very helpful for me if you also publish the error message here.

If the flight plan meets the FSCommander format,

then there is no incompatibility between the FSCommander and FSBuild.

In other words, publish here the flight plan which is exported by FSBuild to the FSCommander.

That is all I can say Volker, as regards how it is presented to FSC, it will not open to show me how. By that I mean it gives the same old message "Sorry this is not a valid FSC flight plan"

Hi Ken,

the message is the reply, "Sorry, this is not a valid FSC flight plan".
In your case, the plan was created with an invalid format.
This is not a fault of the FlightSim Commander.
Publish here the plan with your next reply.

Apologies Volker, my comments are not saying a fault lies with FSC, just that I have this temporary glitch between FS Build and FSC. I have totally removed FSC and re-installed again, unfortunately with the same results. So I think I can safely say no problems with FSC (It was a clean and fresh D/L).

My next step will be to do the same with FS Build. If the situation remains the same it could well be associated with Windows 8, in that case I might revert back to Windows 7!!

Hopefully not, many thanks for your input Volker, If I get it sorted I'll let you know, but for now, it's late, will have another try tomorrow.

Ken.

Hi Ken,

I saw no need to reinstall the FlightSimCommander.

I asked you to post the flight plan here, which is the cause of the error message.

If I have a possible to check this flight plan, then there is also a solution.

I also do not see any incompatibility between the FlifgtSim Commander and FSBuild under WIN 8.

Hi Ken,

[FSC70]
DepartAPCode=EGNX
DepartAPLat=52.8309
DepartAPLon=-1.3245
DepartNum=0

As you can see, this format are for the FlightSim Commander 7.0 from the year 2004.
In this case it is self-explanatory that the FlightSim Commander can not read the FSBuild exported flight plan.
I believe that FSBuild do not use the current format for the FlightSim Commander 9.x.

Yes, I saw that as well, checking the FS Build site shows that update 2.1 includes the ability to export to FSC. my update must be corrupt, but as you say that seems to be the problem.

Thanks again Volker, sorry to be a nuisance.

Volker, FS Build have just introduced another update, by the sounds of it there may have been some issues which needed addressing and the good news is that it has fixed the problem. Windows 7 can remain in the box for now!

Thank goodness and thank you.

Ken
