WideFS7 client points on wrong server FSX folder

Recommended Posts

Hi Gents,

I just spent some time trying to find the answer on the forums, but unsuccessfully!

If you know where the answer is, just lead me.

Now my problem: I have purchased and installed both FSUIPC4 and WideFS7 according to the help file provided.Installation has run without problem. I am running FSX from the server with W7 and the client from a notebook with XP.

When I launch WideClient.exe, I get stuck with an empty panel "...waiting for connection".

Attached file 1 is the .ini file (renammed as txt)

The Path shows the folder FSX Utilitaires that I have created on the client, but no idea where the sub folder Sound comes from!

Attached file 2 is the LOG file (renammed in txt):

The line 3736 refers to the FSX Utilitaires where the file Initial.LUA should be! How to get it there?

The connexion process looks fine.

FSUIPC is not installed on the client. Should it be?

I am sorry to be so ignorant, but I would be grateful if someone could help...

Merci

Bruno

I am running FSX from the server with W7 and the client from a notebook with XP.

Did you change the Workgroup name in one of those so that they are the same? XP and Win7 default to different workgroups.

Please read the WideFS documentation, check the section about configuring your network.

The line 3736 refers to the FSX Utilitaires where the file Initial.LUA should be! How to get it there?

It isn't there. The log is simply informing you that since no Initial.lua was provided, none was executed! It is information, like most entries!

Looking at your log:

	 4256 Trying TCP/IP host "HP-Bureau" port 8002 ...
4256 ... Okay, IP Address = 192.168.0.220
25206 Error on client pre-Connection Select() [Error=10060] Connection timed out
[/CODE]

Is that the correct IP address for your FSX PC? Was FSX actually running?

The Client log only shows half of the story. For a full diagnosis the WideServer log file from the FS Modules folder is also needed.

Pete

Same problem here! After switching the FSX folder to a new hard drive using the WIN7-folder option and not a new logical drive!

Apologies for the delay in replying. As announced, I have been away on holidays.

Folders are irrelevant.

You only show the Client log, half the story. Please show the corresponding Server log.
