FSUIPC 3.96 not work?

Recommended Posts

Dear Pete,

Ive updated my FSUIPC from 3.96 to 3.999w (registered) but in both versions there is com problem with external programs such as FSCommander and SerialFP2 as well as my PMDG programs comes with an error stating that my FSUIPC version is to old and then FS closes. My specs are FS9/WIN7 32bit. Fyi a wek ago with version 3.96 everything was ok. Additionally all my programms installed and run as administrator.

Your kind assistance is appreciated.

Michael

Why are you running them all "as administrator"? If you do that they cannot talk to FSUIPC unless you also run FS "as administrator". That is not really a good idea. There should be no need to run anything "as adminstrator" except when installing things.

Programs run "as administrator" are on a different priority to others and they are blocked from exchanging data, so the FSUIPC interface is blocked. Both parts must be on the same priority level.

The only other reasons you might get the symptoms you mention are:

1. The FSUIPC registration key is not valid, or

2. the date set in your PC is earlier than the date you purchased the FSUIPC registration.

The last one can happen if your PC has lost its date (eg from a CMOS memory reset), or its motherboard CMOS memory battery is running low.

Regards

Pete
