i followed all of the directions to the T, to load mytraffic into flight sim X. however, when i go to the step where i try to "add area" in fsx, once i click the "add area" button, and it opens my flight sim folder, when i click on "my traffic" it either just flashes blue and does nothing, or opens that folder to the folders inside.

so, how do i get it to complete that final step?

If you are trying to add FSX scenery to a Windows 7 OS try this:http://aussiex.org/f...with-windows-7/
thanks, that did allow me to add the my traffic folder, but how do you know that it is working? i mean, there are options to have more traffic added from within fsx. so how do you know if the traffic is from fsx, or from my traffic? also, i flew out of ohara yesterday, and there is a lot of traffic driving around the airport, and when i got up, there were plenty of cars and trucks on the roads outside the airport. however, when i got into the city among the buildings or the stadiums, there was no traffic at all. what's up with that? am i doing something wrong??? MTX only adds AI planes.

If you were at KORD (O'Hare) and saw airplanes from American, United, etc. then MTX is working. If you go to KSSC (Shaw AFB) and see F16's and maybe some KC135's, C130's, C17's, etc. then MTX is working.

MTX does not add cars, trucks, boats, airport vehicles or anything else and has no control over adding these into the sim while you are flying around. These are generated/controlled by FSX and/or other addons like UTX.

As far as patches, 5.2 is old, the current version is 5.4b so Burhard will need to answer the patch question.

UTX is Ultimate Terrain X, since you do not know what UTX stands for I doubt that you have any installed. you can purchase it at www.flight1.com and here is a link to the UTX website.

MTX 5.4b is not free, you can get it at simmarket.

What do you refer to? Ultimate Terrain is a completely different product and has nothing to do with AI traffic. MyTraffic 5.4b is a free update for MyTraffic 5.4a which was a free update for 5.4 - which was not free - so I think the software world is nowhere as generous as here...

If you want to update from a 4 years old version, use the same account, and automatically you should get a big rebate for the newest version...

yeah, i was referring to msfsx and my traffic. after all the money put into fs2004, fs2008 or 09, fsx, accellerator, my traffic, etc...

I have no idea what I used back then. I live on islands all around the world, as i'm a marine biologist. i have changed email addresses so many times because of better services. from aol, to hotmail, to yahoo, to gmail. i am presently living in palau, in the middle of the pacific. is there not a link where i can download the 5.4b update?
