FSC freezes when ticking a box (solved)

Recommended Posts

I recently got the FlightSim Commander and whenever I try to tick a checkbox (for example changing altitude from high to low) the program just hangs up. Same applies for the database manager.

1. FSX
2. FSUIPC 4.923c
3. FS Commander and Database Manager version 9.5, 4th May 2014 build

4. AIRAC 1407 from Navigraph
5. Trial version from fscommander.com
6. Windows 8

Hi ???,

5. Aerosoft digital download from your page

What is an Aerosoft digital version downloaded from our website?

Are you the owner of Aerosoft version or did you buy the FlightSim Commander at simMarket?

1. please read here: http://forum.simflig...of-fscommander/

2. the following document: http://forum.simflig...ttach_id=100028

3. Check whether all software installations (FSUIPC4, FlightSim Commander etc.) have been followed the advice in the documentation

I've done everything listed in the documents and the problem still occurs, even when I install and run the programs as an administrator.

There is no such thing.  Did you buy FSC from Aerosoft or from Simmarket or are you using the trial version?

Hi ???,

There are 2 trial version on the market.
Re question of which trial version are you using?

Last question, you are absolutely sure that you run the FSC as an administartor?

As Tom has already written it, the problem is not known to us and we can not verify it.

I am using the trial version that you can download from fscommander.com

I run the program as an administrator and the problem still occurs.

I have noticed that right-clicking on taskbar and selecting 'show desktop' unfreezes the program, but this doesn't always work.

Hi ???,

Since the problem only exists for you, you can try it with trial and error.

Test the compatibility mode for Win 7 or even for Win XP.

I've tried out all compatibility modes from Windows 8 down to Windows XP, and still nothing.

I'm guessing this issue has something to do with the way FSC always tries to regain focus and stay on the top.

Is there a way of turning that off?

Hi ???,

Since this was never the case I can not confirm it.

Anyway, while you read the manual you can find information about the function "Always on Top".

Hi!

1. FSX
2. FSUIPC 4.926
3. FS Commander and Database Manager version 9.5.1 rev2

4. AIRAC 1411 from Navigraph
5. Trial version from fscommander.com

I have the same problem. If tick to any checkbox (low or high alt in flightplan window, or in options/display) FSC freeze. But if doing any changes in "control panel/region & language/customize forman/"  FSC unfreeze and will be fine. But on next start FSC need to do it all again.

For your problem there is no known solution.

Only a few of x-thousand user has report the problem.
It seems to be either special settings.

Note, try to turn off the Aero theme.

Hi!

I have the same problem which I noticed a few dasy ago. I have no idea when this started, but noticed it when I tried to tick "Low" altitude in the flight plan. Ticking any checkmark in Options freezes FSC. Did a complete reinstall of FSC95, but the problem is still here.

1. FSX +SP2

2. FSUIPC v4.936c, WideFS v6.999b - registered

3. FSC V 9.5.1_Rev.2 Build 31-July-2014, DB Manager V 9.5 Net Build 04-January-2014

4. NavDataPro cycle 1411

5. FSC95.zip from your website

6. Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit - English (Country - Croatia, Keyboard - Croatian)

As I am not the only one with this problem, I hope for a solution.

Thank you,

Mladen

Hi!

The problem is connected to Windows Region and Language settings! If I go to Control Panel > Region and Language and change Format to "English (US)", FSC works normally. As soon as I change Format back to "Croatian (Croatia)" the problem is back. As the problem was not present earlier, I presume the problem occured after the recent Windows Update. Hope this helps.

Hello Volker,

At least I am able to use FSC! Changing the settings before and after using FSC is anoying, but as a temporary solution is acceptable.
