nyfirefly11
I go through the installation, install OpenAL (which says it installs successfully), and then I get a message that the Microsoft c++ redistributable version on my computer is newer than it should be (see attached screenshot). The installer says the program has installed successfully (once I close the error box), but when I start the program, and press "start" to start a scenario, nothing happens. My c++ 2010 version is 40.0.40219. What can I do? The CD that I have is Tower 2011 SP2

Hrdwr_Adct
I've found a solution to the install crashing. At least this works for me, your mileage may vary. when you get the Vis C++ x86 Redist error then go here and be happy > http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555 But more imortantly, I've found that Microsoft Security Essentials will attempt to quarintine or delete the Tower.exe file the moment the installer plops it down on the hard drive. So you need to go into the Security Essentials and add the Tower.exe file to the exceptions so it will quit trashing the install the moment it finds it. Now I just have to figure out the speech setup and get it working properly. ughghg Enjoy :)
