GPS Window has disappeared (answered)

Recommended Posts

Hi Volka,

I have tried EVERYTHING to find my GPs window:

Unchecked always on top, Window/options/ display/show gps window etc.

I have the NaviData widow showing but no GPS now.

This was showing until 2 days ago so I know it was working OK

Any ideas what I can do to see it again?

Regards

Tony

Hi Tony,

It is always helpful if you read this and answering:

http://forum.simflight.com/topic/60271-important-everyone-please-read/

Are you sure that the GPS window is switched on?
Menu -> GPS -> GPS Window active.

Workaround!

Open the file FSC.INI with an editor FSC.INI.

Find the following 2 settings: GPSWINX= and GPSWINY=.

Replace any existing value by a 0 (zero). Save the file!

Regards,

Volker

Hi and thanks.

This was very helpful, the tip about the workaround. I had lost the GPSwindow during attempts to configure three monitors.

If you have three separate screens with the Windows desktop spread all over and put the GPS window on one of the outer screens it is hopelessly lost if you go over to a one window configuration over three screens. Thanks to the workaround that problem was easily solved.

If it may be of help to anyone:

I use FSC with a 3-monitor display now on Windows 10 and just recently replaced one of the monitors and a coincident result was the visual disappearance of the GPS window.

It was there, active, but not showing.

I tried monitor resolutions, hotkeys, not "on top" and everything else to no avail.

Occured to me then to untick in Windows - Options - Display the box for remembering GPS window position. I thought it might be remembering a position which now just would not be available.

It worked! And there it is now - back to normal.

I immediately reticked it to remember the current position, which is what I need.

Apologise if the information is useless to anyone else; just attempting to assist anyone in an equal situation I was facing.

Best to all.
