Prepar3d.exe dont close in Taskmanager

Recommended Posts

Hi Pete,

I have a strange behavior with FSUIPC 4.946 / 4.947c or 4.947d iniP3d v3.

If FSUIPC is active, the p3d.exe remains active when I close P3d. P3d closed well when FSUIPC is inactive.

My exe.xml:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>
<SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0">
    <Descr>Launch</Descr>
    <Filename>exe.xml</Filename>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad>
    <Launch.Addon>
    </Launch.Addon>

</SimBase.Document>

My dll.xml:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>

<SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0">
  <Descr>Launch</Descr>
  <Filename>dll.xml</Filename>
  <Disabled>False</Disabled>
  <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad>
  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>PMDG HUD interface</Name>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <Path>PMDG\DLLs\PMDG_HUD_interface.dll</Path>
    <DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
    <DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
  </Launch.Addon>
  <Launch.Addon>
        <Name>FSUIPC 4</Name>
        <Disabled>False</Disabled>
        <Path>Modules\FSUIPC4.dll</Path>
    </Launch.Addon>
</SimBase.Document>

You can see, there is no other addon like EZCA or TrackIR or LINDA.

And my FSUIPC4.log:

Any Idea?

Yes there is a FSUIPC entry in AddOns and FSUIPC works well.

my Addons are (all with native V3 installer):

Orbx FTX Global

Orbx LC Europe

Orbx PNW

Orbx Lights Configurator

Orbx Trees

PMDG 737 NGX

A2A Skylane, Cherokee and Comanche

Hmm. There's nothing there which even interacts with FSUIPC. I assume you aren't starting any other FS programs outside of FSUIPC?

Just in case it's some FSUIPC setting, could youtry with the FSUIPC4.INI file renamed or removed before loading P3D, please?

P3Dv3 does tend to hang during closing if FSUIPC (or other add-ons) use the "SimConnect_Close" function when tidying up at the end. For this reason FSUIPC for V3 now, by default, does not do this tidy. But yours isn't even getting that far, because it logs this fact.

I know the PMDG aircraft uses SimConnect a lot too, so I wonder now if its the PMDG call to Simconnect_Close which is aggravated by FSUIPC also using SimConnect.

However, so far there have been no other reports of this particular problem even though there are a lot of users with both FSUIPC and PMDG aircraft.

Pete
