STB plugin Not visible in FSX Add-Ons

Recommended Posts

A week trying to make the plugin in FSX visible.

Now I've decided to ask here yet.

FSX environment :

Win7 64 Ultimate

STB is installed and running

Eiher Local    : OK

Or Network : OK (Client with STB-DS V3.2 for FSX running)

STBPlugin.txt :

STB Plug-in
Unable to open SimConnect Interface.
Simconnect Interface Closed.

Simconnect log : (STBServer.dll"  Version="<Unbekannt>") Not good

installed Version VC80 is 8.0.50727.6195

There is no installer out there in the web for the old  VC80.CRT" version="8.0.50608.0"

Can it be that AIRound therefore is not selectable, displayed in the menu ?

Can it be that STB Plugin is not displayed in the FSX Add-Ons menu ?
It is possible to create a newer version. it would be nice if it works ?

Hello Thomas

Simconnect log : (STBServer.dll"  Version="<Unbekannt>") Not good

Why not good?  I don't think that's causing you any problems.

According to your "depends" analysis, it's simconnect.dll that has the missing dependecy and that's a Microsoft part rather than one under my control.  That said, I don't think it's an issue as STBServer.dll would not load at all (and generate the log entries you have posted here) if the dependency was not resolved at load time.

I suspect the real issue is this one:

STBPlugin.txt :

STB Plug-in
Unable to open SimConnect Interface.
Simconnect Interface Closed.

If FSX will not allow us to use the SimConnect interface for some reason, STBServer has no choice but to shutdown as there's nothing it can do.  That's why it's missing from the FSX menus, and there's no AIRound option in STB.

I'll have to look into the connect issue to see if there's any more information we can learn about the circumstances.  The minimal information FSX is providing here is not at all helpful.  I'll get to it as soon as I can, but I'm away from home this week so little FSX computer access.

Hi Simon

Good news STBServer.dll is working now

319, 2]MenuAddItem:szMenuItem="SuperTrafficBoard Plug-in", MenuEventID=1000, dwData=0

It starts after deinstall programs via System Menu.

There I deinstalled the VC++ 2008 redist.

Yesterday there comes a new update for my Firewall. The installer also run through a VC++ 2008 installation.

At first moment  have not found any change in FSX.

But then I noticed that the menu selection AIRound was no longer grayed out.

It worked perfect. Better as the AIRound direct via FSX.

If I have a little time I try to install your VC++ 2008 Version again and test if it works also.

Thanks Thomas
