FSCommander 9.6 and P3DV3.1 (answered & solved)

Recommended Posts

Hi.

I have happily been using FSCommander in P3DV3.

Today, I have installed P3DV3.1, and I am unable to get FSCommander DatabaseManager to work.

I select the flight simulator directory in the left hand box, and the only options for the scenery library which I am presented with are shown in the right hand box.

Whichever one I select, the 'update airports from Prepared3D' does not go active, and hence no update.

I have tried to find a solution or workaround on google - but to no avail

Can anyone help?

Hi,

I can not verify your problem. (see attached screenshot)

Have you tried to open on the right side the Prepar3D V3 folder???
Maybe a faulty P3D or FSC installation?

Was P3D and FSC installed as an administrator?

Which operating system?

Volker

Hi,

I have a similar problem:

Prepar3D v3 and (still for some purposes) Prepar3D v2 are installed on my PC. When I run the DBManager and select Prepar3D v3 as "Simulator Path!" the right box ("Select Scenery Library Path here!") remains grey (as in the 2nd picture above) but displays the path to v2. Actually it doesn't matter which path is selected in the left box as the right box remains 'grey' in any case. That means I cannot switch to v3! I tried to run the DBManager as admin, but no change. OS is Windows7 / 64 and I am unsure if I installed P3D as admin, most probably not. Any idea?

Regards

Retard

Hi Volker,

Hope all is good with you.

Same problem as above, just can't select anything on the 'right hand' box. The 'path' on the left hand box is fine.

Windows 10 64 bit

P3D v 3.1

FSC9.6 rev. 2

I have downloaded the 'patch' for P3D v 3 at the top of this forum.

Just don't know why I can't get it to run.

Any help appreciated

Thanks Dave

Hi Dave,

Had similar problem. My version of FSC suddenly stopped working saying that it could not find MS FS 2004/FSX. I installed the latest FSC version, 9.6  along with the v2 patch. I was still not able to get FSC to run and the DB manager would not update the P3D v3.1 database. It allowed me to select the Prepar3D folder in the left and right hand windows but the button to update remained greyed out.

I then installed MS FSX (which I had uninstalled a long time back (and FS Commander was still then working). Once this was done I was able to get the database manager to do its thing for FSX. I then selected Prepar3D in the left hand pane. The right hand pane, however, remained on the FSX folder! The update button was active and so, with some trepidation, I clicked on it and the database manager updated Prepar3D files. FS Commander appears to be working fine for P3D now and will work for FSX if I select from the Options/Display toolbar. My challenge now is to keep it working for P3D and uninstall FSX.

Don't know if there is anything helpful for you here but I hope so,

Ron
