Thrustmaster warthog throttle axis is reverse thrust for half the axis

I can't figure out how to change the throttle axis so that there full access is only for throttle up and the button past the hump engages reverse thrust. Currently when the throttle is halfway engines are idle and everything before that is reverse.

 

Also, is there a way to make the left throttle axis control engines 1+2 and the right axis control engines 3+4?

You've not calibrated it properly then. Set the idle zone ("central zone") where you want it, not halfway! Follow the numbered steps in the calibration chapter of the FSUIPC user guide.

Yes, there are checkboxes specifically for that in the calibration tab for the 4 throttles. Please do refer to the documentation!
