WideClient and P3Dv4.3 not connecting

Recommended Posts

Due to problems I was having with CTDs I have just reinstalled P3Dv4.3, the only difference is that this time  I have installed to C:/Lockheed Martin rather than to C:/Program Files/LockheedMartin. Previous to this FSUIPC and WideFS worked perfectly.........but now they will not connect. I have installed the latest versions of both apps and registered them accordingly. Been using this system for many, many years and it's never failed me before!

I am also running FS Global weather from the client laptop  and this works fine.

I have mapped drives to "User" and "Lockheed Martin" folders from my laptop and these appear to operate ok.

This is the FSUIPC log file.......

The folder of the Sim is irrelevant to WideFS.

WideFS doesn't use any folder access to operate.

This is the FSUIPC log file.......

The FSUIPC log isn't relevant at all. The important file there is the WideServer.Log.

The WideClient log just indicates either that WideServer either is not active or that the IP Address obtained is incorrect:

     2356 Server = DESKTOP-6AFUHUP
     2371 Trying TCP/IP host "DESKTOP-6AFUHUP" port 8002 ...
     2371 ... Okay, IP Address = 192.168.0.11
23416 Error on client pre-Connection Select() [Error=10060] Connection timed out

I need to see the WideServer.Log as that will indicate whether the client was ever seen.

Okay. that shows nothing is ever seen by WideServer. So the client frames requesting connection are being blocked. Maybe previously you made an exception in your firewall for Wideclient or P3d and moving the latter has nullified that? Test with the firewall disabled.

Thanks Peter that sorted it. How do  I clear that exception? I'm not familiar with Win 10 firewall so I'd be obliged if you could point me in the right direction.

Many thanks for your help.

Edit..............just found the exception and ticked the box.............it was P3D causing the problem!

Thanks again
