LFPG Stops working after Installing OMDB

Recommended Posts

Hello, hope you can help. I have all of the airport addons installed and they all worked great. After buying OMDB and installing LFPG stopped working and will only load up to 63 percent. I uninstalled all of the program and started again from scratch this time installing tower3D, real traffic sp6v16, and the bundle real color for the default airports. I checked and all was working I thin installed OMDB and Real Color OMDB and again, all worked. I loaded LFPG next and all worked except LFPG it still stops at 63 percent. I then uninstalled all again and again installed tower3D, real traffic sp6v16, and the bundle real color for the default airports and then installed LFPG and real color LFPG it all worked. I installed OMDB and again LFPG stops loading at 63%. Any ideas or known workarounds?

Thanks in advance.

I have to admit that what MickeyTSFO describe is for me after installing all airports and real colors it works. Including LFPG.

Now when installing RT sp6v16 then startup loading of  LFPG then it indeed stops loading at 63%. T!3D Pro is still running (with no music, if sound was set on) but it won't stop loading.

The RT version before sp6v16 was LFPG loading until 100% and I could start playing.

As Hexzed suggest to post the output_log.text of the folder tower3ddata can be finded here. But please tell what can be wrong because I won' t see what will be wrong in certain txt file.

Because posting is limited to 20.45kB, and the textfile has a size more then 20.45kB you will see only parts of the end of the output_log.text file. That's why it is named 'outEND of output_log'

Hopefully this text part will be clear enough to see what went wrong at 63% loading of LFGP.

outEND of output_log.txt

@Pierre Simon Look into the lfpg_schedule.txt and replace "B738" with 738.

[Hint for future cases: If you see something like

Custom plane found: B738
NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

in the logfile, that's the problem.
If the plane type is 4 characters, you need to find the three-letter-code (3LC) for it in the ****_airplanes.txt and replace the faulty four-letter-code (4LC) in the ****_schedule.txt with the 3LC.
In case it already is a 3LC, you probably don't have the aircraft model or it's an invalid one (for example in a custom schedule - mistakes happen). In that case what you want to do is replace it with a similar model you already have in-game; just look into a schedule from another airport for a similar aircraft type - that then might stay white, if you don't have the livery in the game. Or you can substitute it with a different model from the same airline that you already have in the game.]

I think you are translating the log file incorrectly. The schedule has 73H and it is getting translated into 738 which is correct.

I think the problem has something to do with lfpg_airlines.txt in sp6v16. In sp6v15 this file had 214 airplanes and now in sp6v16 it only has 201. I think this file somehow got corrupted and is causing issues. @nyergesdesign, your thoughts?

Hey all, thanks for your reactions untill now in this topic.

MickeyTKSFO should I start an own topic, if so just let me know.

@DeltaVII  your suggestion to change from 4LC to 3LC is for me quiet hard to follow for what result this will give. Also you suggest not having the aircraft model ingame. This is in my opinion almost not possible for I play  with the original schedule from downloaded Airports, RC and RT.

And substitute with a different model (any different model?) from the same airline sounds to me a bit odd and I think will give a lot of white planes ingame.

@crbascott I would like to know how to get the former SP6V15. For I did not saved it. Perhaps there in is a solution to solve this hickup loading at LFGP. Hopefully nyergesdesign will come with an plausible solution.

I think you can solution this by using sp6v16. Copy the omdb_airplanes.txt file to your LFPG folder. Delete lfpg_airplanes.txt and then rename omdb_airplanes.txt to lfpg_airplanes.txt. That should do it.

You don't need to worry about the 4LC to 3LC stuff - that's not the issue here.

Start the game, let it get to the 63%. Shut it down, go into your tower3dpro folder then the tower3ddata folder, copy the output_log.text and post it here

That will tell what is wrong 🙂

I can't attach the output log you mentioned hexzd as it exceeds size limit but I did copy the last part of it where it found a custom plane (A320) as you can see below. I Reinstalled it all again an even after editing the Windows registry file to delete all mention of Tower 3D and Feel There, i'm getting the same all stops at 63 % on LFPG. Im seeing the latest traffic file may be an issue but also see replacing airline text file may also solve issue. I will back it up and report if that fix works. Thanks all for help!

crbascott - sorry copying the files over did not work for me. Still stopping at 63% looks like all is pointing towards the newest traffic file

It's not the traffic file and it is not the airplanes file (although it is still bad), the actual reason for the hang at 63% is the terminal file. As you can see below it is totally incorrect.

I got it to work

I got it to work now too. I had a back up of an earlier set up where LFPG worked fine and one at a time I copied over the files with no luck until I copied the terminal file over and now it works! YEAH! Pays to back up ALL files of an application when it is working fine and not wait until it isn't. Old school. LOL Thanks guys I'll be on the lookout for the hot fix.

We apologize for the issue and we are searching for the solution. As soon as we found it, we will let you know.

Gabor

While you are "searching for the solution", how about a simple quick fix and restore all the LFPG RT files to the way they looked in sp6v15?
