These pages don't clarify that the user has to create a folder called "CustomDB" and add the flight plans created externally (ex: Simbrief) there, so they can open it in the FMS. So what is the customdb folder meant for? Is there another way to load a plan into the FMS?

Yes, Shom. - You can create a flight plan in an external program, such as Simbrief (Feelthere format). - Then, in the directory \Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\FeelThere, create a sub folder named "CustomDB" - Put the flight plan file inside this CustomDB folder. - Start P3D only after doing the steps above. - In the FLT PLAN page in the FMS, select FPL LIST so find the flight plan there. Select it, so you copy the file name, and go to FPL SEL. Paste it in the FLT PLAN (1st left selection key), and activate it. Here you go - the flight planned is loaded into the FMS. Unfortunately, this information is not yet in the manual (only old timers know the trick).

Simbrief still offers the "Feelthere" flight plan version, so that is what was causing a bit of confusion to me. I will try the alternative method today. Matty260191
the flight plans work just create the folder or do it though importing from the sim either way.
Shom
I usually load the P3D flight plan in the start up screen anyway since I am using Active sky and want to be getting the ATIS reports etc... This makes the other method redundant for me
Matty260191
you can load a flightplan directly into activesky also
alex.koshterek
CustomDB folder was indeed missed in installer, my bad. It will be fixed. Flight plan format is the same and old plans can be reused in this add-on.
