Winglet74
Hi Pete, On MakeRwys runways.txt created file on P3D V5, there are no more "Offset Threshold" values, Same on the .xml, the Offset is missing. Example PAGA airport P3DV4: Runway 7 /25 centre: N64:44:09.6115 W156:56:12.2271 152.00ft Start 7 : N64:44:09.3524 W156:57:33.0315 152.00ft Hdg: 89.5T, Length 7235ft Computed start 7 : Lat 64.735916 Long -156.959986 Offset Threshold primary: 606 feet On P3D V5, same airport, same runway Runway 7 /25 centre: N64:44:09.6115 W156:56:12.0871 152.99ft Start 7 : N64:44:09.3200 W156:57:32.8365 152.99ft Hdg: 89.5T, Length 7230ft Computed start 7 : Lat 64.735916 Long -156.959924 Start 25 : N64:44:09.8707 W156:54:51.3392 152.99ft Hdg: 269.5T, Length 7230ft Computed start 25 : Lat 64.736084 Long -156.913458 Hdg: 89.520 true (MagVar 17.000), Asphalt, 7230 x 150 ft On Runways.xml file for P3D V5, Threshold value is always set to 0, <ThresholdOffset>0</ThresholdOffset> Are these fields missing on P3D V5 BGL files ? Many thanks for your help, Regards, J-P

No, zero. They can't be missing as they are part of the structure. I assume you are only looking at default airports? Best person to ask is Jon Masterson, the author of Aiport Design Editor, who gave me the changes in the P3D5 airport BGLs -- just extra fields at the ends to handle sloping runways, taxiways and so on. Try the ScruffyDuck support forum, see what he says. Better still, update to the latest ADE for P3D5 (it is freeware), and load up one of those aiports and see what it says. GHD
Many of the default airfields have been reworked for V5.

Example PAGA airport I should be ble to get my P3D5 system running later today. I'll check the record for the default PAGA and see what ADE makes of it. If ADE gives a non-zero offset I shall have to ask Jon where that field has moved to. Since the XML file has the entry for it but as zero there;s certainly a zero where it should be. Because of that I still think it more likely that the reworked airport records have had that field zeroes for some reson, possibly mistakenly? In the latter case it would need reporting to L-M of course. Pete
Pete Dowson
I've looked into this, and I can confirm that it is a bug in MakeRwys 4.90 with the revised P3Dv5 airport records. I'm not sure yet how to fix it, but I will do and release 4.91 in due course. Pete
Pete Dowson
Okay. Fixed in 4.91 now released. A well as the threshold offsets with the P3D5 formatter airport records version 4.90 also omitted runway approach lights and VASI information. Luke Kolin
Sorry to tack onto this, but could runways.xml include runway width? I like parsing the XML rather than the CSVs and it would be nice to get both length and width. Cheers!
