Remote Flight will not connect with FSUIPC7

Hello

I recently bought the Remote Flight AutoPilot from the Apple APP store and have trying to get it to work without success. As you know, part of the process involves installing your FSUIPC7 product which I have done several times. Today I bought the paid product in a last ditch effort to get it working. I am still getting the same error messages that are described below and I am unable to get the RF server program from Remote Flight to connect to the FS 2020.

The text below is a copy of a message I sent to Remote Flight for some assistance but have not heard back.

TEXT OF MESSAGE SENT TO REMOTE FLIGHT OF 12/1/2020.
===================================================

I have been working with the program today and I thought I would bring you up to date on what I have tried. FS 2020 has been installed on the server host computer for some time without problems.

Made sure that the latest version of .NET Framework was installed. (It is included in Windows 10)

Disabled Windows 10 firewall and anti-virus on FS computer

Bought and downloaded RF Auto Pilot on my IPAD Pro without problem

Downloaded and installed FSUIPC7 on FS computer (did not register.)

Downloaded and installed RF Server on FS computer

Started FS 2020 using FSUIPC7 icon which had been placed on the desktop by the program during installation

Got the following 3 consecutive error messages that were clicked OK
Code execution problem and cannot proceed missing MSVCP14.dll
Code execution problem and cannot proceed missing VCRUNTIME 140-!.dll
Code execution problem and cannot proceed missing VCRUNTIME 140.dll

After clicking OK, FS 2020 continued to load, a departure location selected, and then clicked the FLY button

Launched RF Server just to see whether it might connect to FS 2020 but after a short period of time waiting for connection to sim, I got an error message stating that a connection could not be established. The message went on to recommend checking to see whether FS 2020 was running (it was) and insuring that the most up to date FSUIPC7 was installed (it is).

I have tried this process with the anti-virus and firewall enabled and disabled with no difference in the outcome.

As I have said earlier, I purchased the product today-- the order number is 2550377. I would appreciate any help you can give me.
Thanks
William Mathers

This indicates problems with the VC redistributables installed on your machine. Please see the provided README.txt:

Quote

1. If you receive the following error when running FSUIPC7:
The code execution cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140_1.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.
   Please see https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/vcruntime140dll/8fe4965d-2013-49cb-816e-17cc2bb0c077?auth=1

MSVCP14.dll is from the 2015 redistributable, so should uninstall the 2015, 2017 and 2019 redistributables from your system (if installed) and reinstall again from https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads

I don't know why you say "as you know" in you request for help. Having never heard of this product I searched for it with Google. The description on-line makes no mention whatsoever of needing FSUIPC, so where are you seeing this requirement?

I'm always interested in knowing about commercial products using FSUIPC.  Really the makers should ask us for permission or even agree to pay a fee from their consequent profits. It was through such funding that FSUIPC sustained continual development when it was free for users (1998 to 2004).

[LATER]

I looked this up on the App Store on my iPhone, and it says nothing there about needing FSUIPC either. It needs the Remote Server from the website. I see there's also a free app called RemoteFlight LITE, which is says is good for checking your connection.  Again, no mention of FSUIPC. But perhaps you should try that to verify that the Remote Server is installed correctly?

[LATER STILL]

Aha! When you go to download the Remote Server, only then does it say you need FSUIPC, thus:

SERVER REQUIREMENTS

  • Microsoft Windows XP or later
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4 ( Available here or via Windows Update )
  • Compatible with various simulators (look below for details)
  • FSUIPC library from Pete Dowson ( Available here )
Unregistered version of FSUIPC is sufficient for RemoteFlight Server.
Make sure you install FSUIPC for all versions of FS2020/FSX/P3D you wish to use.
  • X-Plane users must use XPUIPC ( Available here ) instead of FSUIPC

So, I downloaded the server and installed the free Remoteflight LITE on my iPhone, and it connects easily, though I have to press "Refresh Data" when MSFS is ready to fly. Note that you have to enter the IP address and the Port number displayed on the Server screen.

The errors you are getting seem like you've not installed things properly. You also don't say whether those errors are shown when you try to start FSUIPC or when you try to start the RemoteFlight Server.

Pete you nailed it.  I downloaded the Microsoft files you mentioned and everything works as advertised.  Incidentally, until I downloaded those files I was unable to register FSUIPC7 despite numerous attempts.  But now I can and just registered.

Thanks for your prompt response and sage advice.
