CUSTOM SCHEDULE for KSFO -- by crbascott -- Unusual Christmas Weather 2020

Hey controllers,

I was doing some flying around with my flight sim and noticed KSFO was running unusual operations on Christmas day. The weather was rather yucky (wind/rain) and KSFO was operating under their Southeast Plan (click here for more information) which they use less than 5% of the time. As a result, I decided to dust off my schedule making software and quickly put together a custom schedule that covers the duration of the unusual operations. Unfortunately, the volumes are low due to the pandemic and also because under these conditions the airport has limited bandwidth capabilities. But the purpose of the schedule is to use/enjoy seldom used operations instead of head banging volume intensity.

The chart below illustrates the hour-by-hour arrivals and departures included in the schedule.

When using this schedule, I'd recommend employing the following realistic operations to enhance the experience.
Arrival Runways - 19L (due to rain and low clouds this runway was used for 95% of landings since 19R does not have an ILS), 19R (only used for a few landings)
Departure Runways - 10R @ S, 10L @ S4

Attached to this post you'll find a zip file called ksfo_crbascott.zip that contains:

  • Custom schedule file (8am to midnight) - ksfo_schedule.txt
  • Custom GA schedule file - ksfo_gaandlocaltraffic.txt
  • Updated terminal file - ksfo_terminal.txt
  • Updated airports file - ksfo_airports.txt
  • Folders containing snippet schedule files for the hours 08 thru 22.

I'd recommend unzipping this file in your KSFO folder. It will create a crbascott folder with the pre-mentioned contents. You can then copy and paste the files needed into the KSFO folder. As always, please remember to backup your original up-to-date Real Traffic files.

ENJOY!!
