Jonathan93102
Hello, I ran into problems yesterday and seemed to lose all my control settings. For some reason with PMDG aircraft of the same type but different livery FSUIPC wont keep my control bindings. For example if I pick a KLM livery for the PMDG 777-200ER and assign the profile in FSUIPC and go back to it later it works. However If I chose an Air France livery for the PMDG 777-200ER it doesn't remember my assignments from the KLM livery. I would prefer it if it would. I've read different things on Google but I haven't been able to fix it. Would someone be able to point me in the right direction so that all my liveries are correctly set up for the same aircraft and I don't have to keep re-applying them if I pick a new livery. I have attached my FSUIPC .ini file. Thanks for your time, Jonathan. FSUIPC6.ini
John Dowson
In your FSUIPC6.ini, in the [General] section, change ShortAircraftNameOk=Yes to ShortAircraftNameOk=Substring You can then use substrings for your aircraft names in your [Profile.xxx] sections. Please see Appendix 2: About the Aircraft Specific option and “ShortAircraftNameOK” in the Advanced User guide. John

The part I’m confused about now that I’ve changed it to Substring is do I have to add anything under [Profile.xxx] ? Thanks, Jonathan

The indexed entries under your [Profile.xxx] sections are the substrings used to match the aircraft title, so if the substring is contained any where in the aircraft title, that profile will be used. Have you read the documentation? Quote ShortAircraftNameOk: This is normally set to “substring” to make sure aircraft- or profile-specific Keys, Buttons and Joystick Calibration settings apply to any aircraft whose title matches a shorted form from within the names. Alternatively, you can set ShortAircraftNameOk=Yes for matching abbreviated names starting at the first character, rather than any parts within, or ShortAircraftNameOk=No to only ever match full names. Also see Appendix 2, as I said. John

But please consult the documentation and also search the support forum for similar questions/issues before asking for help. You could have sorted this out yourself using either method.
