I would welcome any suggestions on how to start both FSUIPC & SpadNext from the FSUIPC batch file.

I have tried to edit the batch file to make the change but SpadNext doesn't load. but FSUIPC does sao I must have got something wrong

Appropriate text that I can copy and paste would be ideal.

Thanks

FSUIPC should be started from the MSFS EXE.xml file. You should also start Spad.next using the EXE.xml file, not the MSFS.bat file provided by FSUIPC.
You should only start things directly from the MSFS.bat file if having issues when using the EXE.xml batch file.

Sorry just seen topic Adding TrackIR5 to MSFS.bat which seems to answer my query.

Ok. For others reading this thread, that is this topic:

It will only be there if you opted to install the auto-start component. This is in mine:

Adding FSUIPC7 auto-start the the MSFS EXE.xml.
Updating EXE.XML for Steam install
C:\Users\jldow\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\EXE.xml has been updated.

But why didn't you attach your InstallFSUIPC7.log file so that I can check this?

Didn't you see this:

Quote

Updating EXE.XML for MS Store install
Error loading EXE.xml file: C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\EXE.xml
**** Auto-start of FSUIPC7 with MSFS will not be enabled ****
**** To resolve, remove or rename this file and re-install:  C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\EXE.xml****

But you wanted to know:

have opened the FSUIPC install log file but can't see where it tells me where to locate the MSFS's EXE.xml file.

That log line tells you - it is here: C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\EXE.xml

But there is something wrong with that file - please attach that here.

Hi John

Just been trying MSFS and FSUIPC loads as normal but not SpadNext.

Looking at the file you send it gives the path for both as D: which is system Reserved on my PC.

FSUIPC is installed in the Windows (C) main folder and SpadNext is installed in the Program Files folder.

I just corrected the format of the files - I left the paths as they were specified.

Then just change the paths in the EXE.xml file so that the <Path> element is pointing to the correct location for the exe....its not that difficult to understand...

As FSUIPC loads anyway do I need to change that entry or is the load process triggered elsewhere

If FSUIPC7 is starting automatically, than that entry must be correct and pointing your FSUIPC7.exe in its installed folder. If that is not the case, just re-run the installer - now your EXE.xml is in the correct format you shouldn't have any issues when you reinstall anymore.
