cptautoland
Attached files that I believe are required. Basically, the second flight of a session (e.g. fly, go to main menu, start a new flight) seems to occasionally freeze FSUIPC. The program is still running in Task Manager but the window (or right click menu in tasbkbar) won't open. Can only force close. Whenever this happened in the past, running FSUIPC7.exe would fix it as in it would start and connect. But it starts and goes to Not Responding. Started happening only with latest versions of sim and FSUIPC. FSUIPC7.ini FSUIPC7_prev.log

Can you check in the Windows the Event Viewer please and see if there are any events related to FSUIPC (under Windows Logs -> Application) and if so save the event and show it to me/attach it. 54 minutes ago, cptautoland said: Whenever this happened in the past, running FSUIPC7.exe would fix it as in it would start and connect. The next time it occurs, can you please show me the log file from both when FSUIPC freezes, and also when you restart and it stops responding. Your ini file is pretty empty - looks like you are not using FSUIPC for anything except auto-save.... John
cptautoland
Yeah, really the biggest use is communication with external tools. When I say happened it the past, I mean it extremely sporadically since the launch of MSFS so over a few years. Not really reportable now. It was more to point to the fact that when this particular thing started at last simupdate, the restart (of fsuipc) does not work anymore (for me). Like the sim is still running but feels like it's not sending to FSUIPC... All EV has are hangs, no Red Error crashes. And weirdly, only one so not sure if this is the original hang or my restarted hang... Why are you still using a trial license? The trial license is meant for you to try FSUIPC for a period of a few weeks or so. After that, if you don't want to purchase, you should either delete or use the unregistered version. 10 hours ago, cptautoland said: I will post the logs if this happens again. Also, when it next happens, can you also attach the FSUIPC_WASM.log file and any events you see related to FSUIPC. Also, please check the MSFS console for any messages relating to the FSUIPC WASM. Was the first flight/session a long one? i.e. how many hours (approx) and how many flights? What other add-ons are you using? Do you use GSX? John Dowson
Can you please download and try this beta: Install_FSUIPC7.4.13b Please add TestOptions=x800 to the [General] section of your FSUIPC7.ini file, and show me your files again if you get an issue. cptautoland
Thanks, will try this. It did happen after really long longhaul flights (10+ hrs sessions).
cptautoland
Actually - scratch that. The link above is 404. 🙂 LE: double posting like crazy but I do see the new version is out now. Should I still add that to the ini and look out for this or have you found its root cause? Cheers! Edited June 5 by cptautoland
John Dowson
11 hours ago, cptautoland said: Actually - scratch that. The link above is 404. 🙂 Yes - I removed the 7.4.13 beta version when I released it officially, so now downloadable from the usual places. 11 hours ago, cptautoland said: Should I still add that to the ini and look out for this or have you found its root cause? Cheers! There seemed to be 2 issues with the 7.4.12 version: - WASM crashing after long flight. Not 100% sure on this but it seems that some add-ons are continually creating lvars which, due to the way lvars are pushed out from the FSUIPC WASM to its clients (including FSUIPC) caused some resource issue and the WASM to crash. - start-up and connection issues due to a combination of switching the auto-start method to using the MSFS.bat file and the auto-tuning functionality running when MSFS is updating, causing long start-up times and too many re-connection attempts/. Both issues have been addressed in the new version. You don't have to add that to the ini for the time being, but if you get any connection/start-up issues, then please add this TestOptions to your ini. That option provides extra logging as to why things are started or not during initial connection to MSFS. John
cptautoland
Hey John, just happened again. This time after a not that long session. Log attached. FSUIPC7_prev.7z Also, only this hang in EV: Fault bucket , type 0 Event Name: AppHangTransient Response: Not available Cab Id: 0 Problem signature: P1: FSUIPC7.exe P2: 7.4.1.3 P3: 66607f3b P4: unknown P5: unknown P6: unknown P7: unknown P8: P9: P10: Attached files: \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WER9CAD.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WER9CBD.tmp.xml \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WER9CCC.tmp.csv \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WER9CDD.tmp.txt These files may be available here: Analysis symbol: Rechecking for solution: 0 Report Id: 9e9e4635-b9be-4f13-b6b0-2780cbb15573 Report Status: 2049 Hashed bucket: Cab Guid:
John Dowson
Could you please attach your FSUIPC_WASM.log file from when you had this hang - if still available. Please attach that the next time, and also enable WAPI Debug logging (Log->WAPI->Debug) as it looks like its something to do with the WAPI / WASM. Can you tell me when you are starting FSUIPC7? Your log file shows this was manually started, but you have quite a few reconnection attempts. Maybe better to update your InitialStallTime ini parameter to 15 (currently 5). Note also that your trial license has expired, so you will not have access to licensed functionality anyway. The event is an AppHangTransient event. I think this is more likely to do with your system that FSUIPC. As it is transient, if you leave it running. does it recover? Can you see anything related to FSUIPC in the MSFS console window (you need to enable devmode to see this)?
