[FSX setup from N-vidia]

Just bought an 8800GT and was mildly miffed about the performance. I went looking for some tips on setup and found this. Very helpful to me http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_fsx_techtips.html try it. It may just help.

Just toying with the idea of purchasing FSX acceleration. I read good and bad reviews. I wonder what are your experiences?

Is it worth the purchase or is it a sure fire way to screw my smooth running install.

I've just installed Bushflight Northwest for FSX and the objects seem to be incorrectly placed.

Do I need ultimate terrain in order for it to work properly?

In answer to your technology forum question .... yes I am refering to dual core 6600.

A thousand thanks my friend. It seems that I am being a bit hard on my system expecting it to run 'the world' on high settings without flinching. I have come up with a compromise on my clouds.... I choose static weather and stay beneath them. Things are OK so long as I don't have stratus cloudsthey seem to eat system resources.

I am looking forward to reading about your selective FS boot.

My spec is Intel 6600 @2.4 GHZ, with 2GB RAM, Nvidia 7600GT with 256MB RAM

When flying with complex clouds (AS6.5) in FS9, frames rates take a hit from a solid 30 to 17-ish. Question is will a new graphics card e.g.8800GT 512RAM stop this, or am I dreaming?

With no clouds frames stay glued to 30 no matter what.

Is there any way to use the ground textures from Tongass for the rest of the fs world? I guess i've been spoiled but as soon as I fly outside the boundaries of your add-ons I dislike the ground textures.

If this is not possible, can you reccomend an alternative software that will give the same/ similar effect please?

Well...

Having just upgraded to intel dualcore and 7600gt GPU I am enjoying the finest FS9 experience (Holger's Misty, Tongass, GBv2) @ 25fps locked I've ever had.

I don't want to 'rock the boat' by going back to square one (FSX) and starting all over again.

One day maybe.

I agree with Gary, tell us why to change, inspire and guide us!

Hey there,

HAs anyone else had issues with the animations at Emma not working... things like the gate and AI aircraft and gliders don't seem to be present despite trying different times.

Fritz seems to be a little 'irregular' with his showing you where to go.

Is this everyone's experience or am I alone?
