  1. Thanks for getting back, Ruud. No rush, I've switched back to old textures temporarily. I appreciate your time!

    On second glance, the tiles in the first and third pics seemed very similar, depending on where their boundaries are, just a different angle. Can it be location-related? The top two were on opposite sides of the Mediterranean, one in the southern half of Spain, the other around Algeria. The third, "good" one I don't recall, but I was looking around eastern Europe, maybe Poland.

  2. Hi folks.

    I've just tried the FSScene packs for Europe and Africa in FS2004, and they are indeed improvements overall. However, I am not sure, given the nice alignment of autogen in general (squared off in built-up areas, along field boundaries in farm areas) that what I am seeing in drier looking (perhaps harvested) fields is correct.

    Here are some examples, first from Spain;

    ss_spain.jpg

    and from North Africa;

    and finally one from somewhere in Europe to show what I am taking as a standard for "good autogen alignment";

    Has something gone wrong with the particular ground texture types shown, and if so, is there anything I can do about it? I don't think I've ever seen FS9, whatever enhancement is applied, scatter trees and buildings across fields.

  3. Thanks Jon, just dropping back to say on a quick first tour it looks magnificent. I even made sure the signage on the bridge wasn't generic, and it confirmed I was on Granville!

    One question which Simmarket never answered was that I saw two downloads when I purchased, one identified as an update. Both were the same size, which struck me as odd for an 'update'. As I was having problems downloading I only got the base package. Can you shed any light on it? I really don't want to download unnecessarily given the problems I had (like using up my monthly allocation on day 1!)

  4. Thanks, Jon. This reply is now heavily edited - found the problem.

    I have progressively disabled adjacent or overlapping sceneries. I did have us_wa_nc.zip in place under a different 'user friendly' name!

    File us_nc_vp.zip (found at AVSIM) is about to go in its place and get tested, but I am sure it will work - just like the MANUAL SAID in the FIRST PLACE! :oops:

    A lesson for us all - don't just RTFM, read it two or three times with your scenery library open alongside!

    And it looks great so far. But with its pedigree there was no doubt it would (he says, grovelling in embarrassment ever so slightly) :)

    Thanks for your indulgence!

  5. I have just installed Vancouver+ and I find the coasts appear as in the attached screenie. This screenshot is immediately adjacent to CYVR. This problem occurs all over the scenery area. I have messed around with positions on the scenery library list, uninstalled earlier and other third-party sceneries, and when that had no effect I uninstalled and reinstalled Vancouver+ and Victoria version 6. I do not have UT Canada or UT America installed. Any suggestions, folks?

    Francois may recall I had download problems with Vancouver+ and I can't help wondering if this download is corrupt. I have ordered Vancouver+ on disk but I am concerned that there might be an obvious issue I have overlooked.

    Thanks in advance.
