  1. Hello !

to make your GPS 296 work, you need a serial port adapter (not the usb cable) (i ibought it at Golf Coast Avionic via the net).

in the the main menu (push twice menu), choose set-up then go to COM 1 file then choose Aviation In

I use it and it is working fine

I you have a 2nd computer it is working well to (using wide fs)

  2. hello,

Is FSInn feeding every PC, like having several copies of ActiveSky? No, dual installation if you want to operate from a remote computer (my set up) no installation required on pc's running wideview client

I don't think Fsinn use Fsiupc ( i will verify)

I forgot to mention that i did try either FSmeteo and AS without fsinn and i got the sames problems.

  3. Hello M. Dowson,

Having read many topics on this forum other ones (Hifi forum, wideview forum) regarding how to use a 3rd party weather programm on my system, here the observations:

    my system:

pc1: msfs 2004 server, registered fsiupc wide fs server wideview server: main view FS Copilot

pc2: msfs 2004 wideview client: foward left and left view

pc3: msfs 2004wideview client: foward right and right view

pc4: wide fs Project Magenta Glass Cockpit: Capt side + ecas

pc5: wide fs + Project Magenta CDU + MCP + Fsinn

pc6: wide fs + Project Magenta PM System + PM sounds

i always fly online (vatsim) with real meteo in real time

1-i did try Active Sky but with only one version installed on a remote Pc, weather synchro is catastrophic (the only valuable solution found on some forums is to have a registered version on each pc running msfs2004)

2-i did try FS Méteo but unable to get the same weather (on wideview pc's i lost clouds and there was a significant wind direction change with an increase in altitude)

3-but using the FSInn weather option, although less realistic (especially for th altitide winds) everything is working quite well: wind and clouds are synchro and always able to refesh meteo

Why weather synchro is possible with FSinn Weather but not with the two others softwares ?

Note: with either FS Meteo or AS, the anomaly are the same on both wideview clients (the same variations appear on both pc's)

    thank's

    jean-louis

  4. Hello M. Dowson,

i have the following go flight modules: G-T8, G-RP8, G-LGT and G-P8. They are on the same computer with MSFS 2004 and a registered version of FSIUPC. I try to programm them using the Eaglesoft Piper twin comanche add-on plane. I did configure a no selection configuration from Go-flight config. Using the Fsiupc list, some buttons/switches works and som don't: master avionic work, landing lights and magnetos don't ?

Do i need the GF-display for this purpose ?

    thank you

    jean-louis

  5. hello Mr Dowson

i currently use my real garmin 296 gps with msfs 2004 on a 2nd computer using wide fs and according to your discussion with dfournie in last july, i a did downloaded your last gpsout version (i did have the same problem as described by dfournie in his post). Everything is working.

I did try it with fsx and a registred version of fsiupc and wide fs (of course) and although thw wide fs log, fsuipc log wideclient log are ok, the gps is not working at all but still wirking perfectly with nsfs2004.

I attached the log and correspnding ini files.

    thank you

  6. thank you veru much for yor quick and clear answer, but

it is possible to run MSFS (link with tcp/icp) as decribed in the in following text from fs cockpit, and run wide fs. or each time MSFS is opened, widefs won't work ? re: not using wideview at all.

    text from fs cockpit

    On different PCs

It is also possible to view Microsoft Flight Simulator on different PCs. In general these PCs are connected via a TCP/IP connection. On all PCs Microsoft Flight Simulator is active. Using specific software one PC is used as a the server to 'fly' (including display) and the other PCs (1 or more) are used as additional display. The client PCs can be configured as 'virtual windows', to show maps, additional instruments, a GPS, a custom panel, etc.

The Microsoft Flight Simulator Netpipes SDK includes a program called Netpipes (Microsoft). It links two computers over a TCP/IP connection, both of them running FlightSim to display the same flight from different points of view. The source code is provided if you want to understand the inner working of the tool. One can use any keys and joystick buttons on both computers to point the camera to different places, but only the user on the server can actually fly the aircraft. The user at the client side, can only watch

    thank you very much

    jean-louis.

note: since my client is relatively powerful, it is not a problem to run more than 1 external view (with a matrox parhelia, i have been able to run 3 external views with good frame rates using wideview). i just try to fin a way to optimize this computer to run more than 1 application

  7. i need help !

i am in the process to install project magenta on my network:

computer 1: server amd athlon 64 4000+ 2.2ghz running msfs, fsiupc, widefs server + wideview 1 external view

computer 2: client no.1 amd athlon x2 dual core running wideview (2 external views), wide fs client, project magenta mcp and cdu (mcp hardware +efis form cp flight).

computer 3: intel celeron 2.53ghz running wide fs, project magenta glass cockpit.

computer 4: laptop pentium II running quickmap

problem: on the computer 2(client no1), once wideview is started (in opening msfs) the mcp connect to msfs slave and then not connct with msfs on the server. if i open widefs first, then open mcp, the they are connected to the server but then 1 am unable to open msfs on the client (to run wideview).

    any suggestion ?

    thank you very much !
